NMAT by GMAC Eligibility Criteria have defined a few basic parameters which an applicant requires to fulfil to appear in NMAT exam. These are:
- (1) Academic Qualification-Completed Bachelor’s Degree: The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree. There is requirement of minimum percentage of marks in graduation.
- (2) NMAT Eligibility for Final Year Students: Candidates in final year of Graduation can also apply
- (3) Age Restriction in NMAT Eligibility: There is no minimum or maximum Age restriction for NMAT by GMAC eligibility
- (4) NMAT Eligibility for Professional Degree Holders: Candidates who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) or are waiting for the result can also apply.
- (5) MBA College Eligibility: NMAT Eligibility is different from the NMAT Eligibility Requirements for Admission in MBA college and should be as per the requirement of MBA college.
3. NMAT Eligibility Requirements for Admission
GMAC has advised the candidates to look for the eligibility criteria for the selected MBA/PGDM programme at the preferred institutes apart from ensuring their NMAT eligibility. As per the AICTE/UGC guidelines, the applicant should have secured minimum 50% marks in graduation to seek admission in MBA programme. Besides, GMAC has clarified that it is the sole responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the necessary .

Important Guidelines
- NMIMS has clarified that the candidates having two and more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred for admission to all the full time MBA/PGDM programmes.
- The candidate must have appeared for all the subject(s) / exams before the commencement of the respective program (s) of NMIMS. The examination of none of the subjects should be held after the commencement of the respective course.
5. NMAT Exam Fee Refund, If Eligibility Not Matched
If the test taker registers for NMAT and then finds that he/she is not - eligible for admission to the desired program, NMAT exam fee will not be refunded.
6. NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2024 for International Students
NMAT eligibility criteria 2024 for international students are as below:
- Academic Qualification: International students should have completed bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university/institute
- TOEFL/IELTS Score: The students from countries categorised as non-english speaking ones, should have obtained proficiency in the English language and would be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS score.
- Age: There is no minimum or maximum age limit for international students applying for NMAT by GMAC.
7. Reservation Policy for NMAT
GMAC has not prescribed any reservation policy for NMAT nor it has provided any concession in registration fee for any category. However, the MBA colleges accepting NMAT score are free to apply their reservation policy on NMAT score. GMAC has advised the candidates to verify the reservation policy for MBA admission in the respective university/institutes.
