One of the key changes in the admission process for 2018 adopted by IIM Nagpur is that it has announced to conduct its own PI/WAT round by following the admission policy of IIM Ahmedabad. Till last year IIM Nagpur followed a simple and liberal admission policy with no GD-PI-WAT.  However, for admission 2018, IIM Nagpur has brought about number of changes in shortlisting and final admission criteria.

A very aspirant friendly change in admission criteria 2018, announced by IIM Nagpur is that it has reduced the minimum required sectional CAT 2017 percentile to 72 from 80 to shortlist the candidates but has added many more parameters which will be taken into account before shortlisting the candidates for PI/WAT round.

Reconfirm your interest in IIM Nagpur by end of March 2018
Even if you opted to study at IIM Nagpur at the time of registering and applying for CAT 2017, the admission process at IIM Nagpur will require you to reconfirm your interest to pursue your studies at the B-school.  You will get an e-mail from IIM Nagpur if you meet the cut offs prescribed by IIM Nagpur for admission 2018, before the 3rd week of March 2018 which will ask you to reconfirm your desire to take admission in PGP 2018-20 at IIM Nagpur by a stipulated date.

The last date to reconfirm your interest in IIM Nagpur would be sometime in the end of March 2018.

IIM Nagpur not to participate in CAP 2018
Unlike its peers, IIM Nagpur will not participate in the Common Admission Process (CAP) 2018 being conducted for 11 new IIMs including 5 of its peers namely IIM Amritsar, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Sirmaur.

IIM Nagpur will conduct its own PI/WAT round this year and has announced the minimum required CAT 2017 cut off percentile to shortlist the candidates for final selection round. This is a key change from last year admission process which required only CAT exam score for admission.

Intake may go up before Admission begins
As of now IIM Nagpur has an intake of 60 students out of which 28 seats are available for General candidates and rest 32 are divided among different reserved categories. However, it is expected that IIM Nagpur may revise its intake upwards.

According to IIM Nagpur, ‘The batch size will be 60 students. The intake might be revised before the admission process begins. In such a scenario, appropriate changes will be made based on the revised intake.’

Sectional Cut offs go down to 72 in 2018 from 80 in 2017
The CAT-2017 score is the single criterion used as the basis for arriving at the first short-list at IIM Nagpur. Only candidates with positive scores in all sections of the CAT 2017 exam will be considered for the admission process.

As against the last year cut offs, IIM Nagpur has announced lower cut offs required to shortlist the candidates for PGP 2018 admission.
