JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya, GIM Goa are only few of the top MBA colleges who have announced to accept AICTE-CMAT 2018 exam scores in admission to 2018-20 batch. CMAT exam is being held today on January 20, 2018 and has started at 9.30AM.

Around 60,000 candidates are taking the online computer based CMAT 2018 test to explore admission opportunity in more than 1000 MBA colleges offering AICTE approved MBA/PGDM programmes across the country. These colleges are autonomous, University B-schools offering MBA degree, private PGDM colleges among others. CMAT cut offs in these MBA colleges accepting CMAT scores vary from institute to institute. Apart from the overall CMAT cut offs, many of the CMAT accepting colleges also consider CMAT sectional cut offs in shortlisting the candidates.

Top MBA Colleges Accepting CMAT Score with Cut off

Besides, all the 400 MBA colleges in Maharashtra offering AICTE approved MBA/MMS/PGDM and participating in Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2018 conducted by DTE Maharashtra for MBA admission will accept CMAT 2018 exam scores.

Only CMAT & CAT are National level tests acceptable for MBA/MMS
Announcing the acceptability of CMAT 2018 scores for admission to all the top MBA colleges including JBIMS, participating in DTE Maharashtra Centralized Admission Process (CAP), the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra vide its notification ref. 2A/ADM/MBA-MMS/2017/1221 dated October 18, 2017 has clarified that  All India Candidates seeking admission for 15% All India seats in MBA/MMS 2018-20 programmes in Maharashtra B-schools will now be considered for admission only on the basis of MAHCET 2018, CAT 2017 and CMAT 2018 entrance exam scores.

The scores of XAT 2018 conducted by XLRI, MAT conducted by AIMA or scores of ATMA will no longer be considered for admission in Maharashtra B-schools.

It implies that All India candidates can be considered for admission in JBIMS and other Maharashtra B-schools with only MAH-CET 2018, CAT 2017 and CMAT 2018 scores. Accordingly, the all India category candidates can not apply for MBA admission to the B-schools whose admission process is governed by DTE Maharashtra without appearing in one these three exams.

Admission is open in many MBA colleges
If you have not already applied to any B school and wish to apply now, do not get disheartened there are still number of B schools across the country who have extended their last date to submit admission application in view of CMAT 2018 exam being conducted in January and the result expected in February. The admission process in these B-schools is open.

There are many institutes which will accept scores of CAT 2017 and CMAT 2018 exams both. The problem with CAT score lies in its sectional cut off.  A candidate may have high overall CAT percentile but low sectional percentile which may block the admission chances to good B school.  But there is no such problem with CMAT 2018 exam score as it will award sectional as well as overall score with pre declared place in merit list. You may use your CMAT 2018 score parallel to score cards of other All India Entrance exams.
