CMAT 2019 Merit List: 54516 Candidates Ranked; Higher Scores Lead to Low Percentile – Check Top MBA Colleges Cut Offs

National Testing Agency declared CMAT 2019 result at 6 PM on February 6, 2019 after deferring the result release date from February 5. This year CMAT exam scores have gone up substantially leading to higher CMAT score fetching lower percentile. With an increase of more than 20 marks over last year, the 100 percentile in CMAT 2019 is scored by only one candidate Surendra Navanshu Sharma by obtaining 372 total marks out of 400. The CMAT 2019 score cut off for 99 percentile has also gone up to 310 marks. CMAT 2019 result merit list includes 54516 candidates who appeared in the CMAT exam on January 28, 2019. 

Earlier the official date to declare CMAT 2019 result was announced as February 8. However, immediately after releasing the CMAT result, the NTA website has gone inaccessible for the candidates trying to view and download their score card. CMAT Result download process has also been changed this year and the candidates can download CMAT 2019 result either by entering their CMAT 2019 application number and password or by login with CMAT application number and date of Birth. NTA does not propose to send the separate CMAT 2019 score card by mail to the candidates. 

CMAT 2019 exam was held on January 28, 2019 in morning and afternoon shifts. There were 183 Examination Centres on 28.01.2019 and 03 Centres on 29.01.2019 across the country in CMAT 2019.

The CMAT 2019 percentile scores have been arrived at after equating the normalizing the scores for both the sessions.

Top 10 in CMAT 2019 Merit List
Since JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA, K J Somaiya, Welingkar among other top MBA colleges will accept CMAT 2019 scores, it is expected that top 10 candidates scoring 99.99 and 100 percentile may get admission offer at these top MBA colleges. However, this year while there is no change in percentile cut off in top MBA colleges, much higher CMAT score is required to get the percentile cut off requirement of the top MBA colleges:

How to download CMAT 2019 Score card
CMAT 2019 Result score card download process has been changed by NTA. Now the score card download can be done by entering your CMAT 2019 application number and password or by login with CMAT application number and date of Birth on the NTA CMAT 2019 website on the icon ‘View CMAT 2019 Result’.

Details to check in CMAT 2019 Score Card
CMAT 2019 score card contains the following details:

• CMAT 2019 raw score as well as CMAT percentile score
• Sectional Raw score as well as sectional percentile score
• CMAT 2019 Result does not contain cut offs for the B-schools
• CMAT 2019 score card will remain valid for MBA admission 2019 during entire academic session
• CMAT 2019 result has not disqualified any candidate who has taken the exam. Every candidate has been given a rank to all test takers

CMAT Scoring trends
There are 100 questions in CMAT divided in 4 sections of 25 questions each. The scoring pattern in CMAT is:

• +4 marks for the correct answer
• -1 mark for incorrect answer
• 0 mark for no answer

Order of Merit in case of equal total scores
In case scores are same for more than one candidate, the ranking is done on sectional score considered in the order of:

• Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
• Logical Reasoning
• Language Comprehension
• General Awareness

If more than one candidate secures same ranking going by the above process, the same Rank is assigned to all of them but is displayed by sorting their names alphabetically. The Rank of the subsequent candidate is then extended by the number of additional students having the same Rank. For example if 3 students are at 25th Rank then subsequent student will be ranked as 28th.

Percentile is calculated using the formula:
Percentile P = ( (N- your rank)/ N) x 100 (Where P is percentile and N is total number of candidates appeared for exam).
