A big change in admission criteria at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has been announced. IIFT will accept only CAT 2023 exam score for admission to MBA (IB) 2024-26 batch at its Delhi and Kolkata campuses and the present IIFT entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency stands cancelled.

Announcing the significant change in its MBA (IB) admission criteria 2024, IIFT has clarified, “From Academic Year 2024-25, for admission to IIFT’s two years MBA (International Business) and MBA (Business Analytics) programmes, the Institute will consider the score of CAT 2023. Candidates will be shortlisted for the second round of the admission process i.e. WAT/Group Discussion/Extempore/Personal Interview etc. of MBA (International Business) and MBA (Business Analytics) programmes on the basis of their CAT Score and other parameters. Therefore, to take the admission to IIFT’s MBA(IB) and MBA(BA) 2024-26 programmes, it is mandatory for all the aspirants to have valid CAT 2023 score.”

6.1 IIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024 with Completed Qualification
To meet the IIFT eligibility 2024, the applicant must have obtained a recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline with 50% marks.

6.2 IIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Final Year Students of Qualifying Exam
The candidates appearing for a qualifying examination (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) are also eligible to apply for IIFT 2024 Admission subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by October, 2024.

9. How CAT 2023 is different from IIFT Entrance Exam earlier conducted by NTA
If we compare CAT Vs IIFT exam, following 10 key differences are there

9.1 IIFT Admission Tests so far: Used to Delay the Selection Process

• Prior to 2019, IIFT used to conduct its own entrance exam comprising 5-6 sections and varying scoring pattern immediately after CAT exam latest by December first week
• From 2019 to 2022, National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted IIFT entrance exam with 4 sections and 110 questions which was conducted as late as in December and the result was sometimes declared in January third/last week
• IIFT Admission 2024 will be based on CAT 2023 score. CAT exam date is November 26, 2023 and the result is declared in the first week of January or last week of December. Last year CAT 2022 result was declared as early as on Dec 21, 2022. 11. IIFT MBA Business Analytics Programme: Highlights, Eligibility, Selection Process

• IIFT has launched 2 years full time MBA (Business Analytics) programme from the academic year 2023-25
• MBA-BA will be offered at Delhi Campus
• IIFT MBA-BA will be a Non-Residential Programme
• The programme will provide a synergy to the existing MBA programme in International Business as students from both streams will benefit from a vast pool of courses that will be offered.

11.1 IIFT MBA-Business Analytics Intake: 60 Students

11.2 IIFT MBA Business Analytics Eligibility Criteria
For admission 2024, IIFT MBA Business Analytics eligibility criteria will be as below:

• The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or 5.0 CGPA out of 10. The student should have Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects at Graduation level. OR
• Candidates must hold B. Tech / B.E degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institute with at least 50% marks in aggregate or 5.0 CGPA out of 10. OR
• The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or 5.0 CGPA out of 10, with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level. Applied Mathematics in 10+2 will not be considered.

11.3 IIFT MBA Business Analytics Selection Process

Exams Accepted

• Applicants should appear in CAT 2023 Entrance exam
• For short-listing/selecting the candidates, IIFT will use score of CAT exam
• Candidates having valid GMAT Score are also eligible to apply

Final Selection

• Final Selection will be based on the score obtained in CAT exam, performance in Extempore and PI, academic performance in class 10th and 12^th and work experience.
• Some weightage will also be given to female candidates to bring in Gender Diversity in the programme.

12. IIFT Admission 2025
Many young students who are in the second year or third year of their bachelor’s degree course and wish to appear in IIFT for IIFT Delhi/Kolkata MBA admission 2025, are not eligible this year, but can apply for IIFT MBA admission 2025 through IIFT 2025. It is expected that the IIFT MBA admission 2025 process will remain on similar lines like this year. You need to begin your CAT preparation and by the time you become eligible for IIFT 2025 admission, you would have completed a large part of your preparation which will help you score high in CAT exam and improve your chances for IIFT admission 2025.
