Dapartment of Management Studies (DMS) IIT Delhi has opened MBA admission 2019 immediately after declaration of CAT 2018 result as CAT score is the mandatory component in the DMS-IIT Delhi shortlisting criteria. The deadline to submit application for MBA admission 2019 at DMD-IIT Delhi is January 27, 2019 Midnight. Application process is common to apply for DMS-IIT Delhi, DoMS - IIT Madras, and/or DMS - IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. If a candidate wishes to apply to all the three institutions, only one application needs to be submitted.

DMS-IIT Delhi Last Date to Apply: January 27, 2019
After the CAT 2018 results declared on January 5, 2019, DMS-IIT Delhi has opened the application process for admission. The applicants are required to complete the online application form which is available from January 8, 2019 on the website of the DMS IIT Delhi. The last date for filling the form is January 27, 2019.

DMS-IIT Delhi Admission Cut Off  
DMS-IIT Delhi Cut off 2019 are not officially announced. However, going by the cut offs announced by other IITs, it is expected that DMS-IIT Delhi CAT cut offs would as under. Only the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT 2018 sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2018 will be considered for all the subsequent stages.

Key Points in DMS-IIT Delhi Application Process

  1. The application form is common to apply for MBA admission at DMS-IIT Delhi, DoMS - IIT Madras, and/or DMS - IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. If a candidate wishes to apply to all the three institutions, only one application needs to be submitted.

DMS-IIT Delhi Admission Eligibility

The candidates having the following qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to the MBA and MBA Telecom programme at DMS-IIT Delhi


  • For Admission to Masters in Business Administration (MBA) a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required.
  • The Graduation degree should be awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

For MBA (Telecommunication Systems Management)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (minimum 4 years after 10+2), Or
  • Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Economics, CA/ICWA.

Common Eligibility Requirement for Both the Programmes

  • A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree.
  •  A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. min. 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST candidates. Relaxation in criteria for PH candidates may be as per the Institute rules.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate by certain date.
  • The candidate should have appeared in CAT 2018 exam and must have scored minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to become eligible for admission
  • Those having applied to IIT Delhi MBA programmes on qualifying the CAT 2018 will be shortlisted and then invited for a WAT and interview, which will be held at IIT Delhi and IIT Madras

DMS-IIT Delhi Admission Criteria
DMS-IIT Delhi Admission Criteria 2019 is a two step process involving the preliminary screening and shortlisting criteria and the Final admission selection Criteria with CAT exam score and other key parameters.

  1. DMS-IIT Delhi Shortlisting Criteria
    The first part of DMS-IIT Delhi Admission criteria is the shortlisting criteria before final selection round. DMS-IIT Delhi will shortlist the candidates on the basis of CAT 2018 score, past academic performance, and other criteria as under:
  • The 1st stage of shortlisting in DMS-IIT Delhi Admission Criteria awards high weight to CAT 2018 score along with the weightage to Academics, Gender Diversity and Work Experience
  • The candidate must have scored minimum sectional percentile of 80 in each of the three sections of CAT 2018 – Quantitative Aptitude' (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VRC)
  • A candidate must have scored minimum overall percentile of 90 in CAT 2018
  • If the candidate does not score minimum prescribed percentile in CAT 2018, he/she will not be considered for shortlisting for final selection stage.
  • All the shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) in the first/second week of March, 2019.

2. Final Admission Round: Selection Criteria

  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to  DMS-IIT Delhi
  • Final selection round will have two key components – WAT and PI
  • DMS-IIT Delhi will conduct WAT-PI in 5 cities namely Chennai, Dhanbad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. Applicants need to give three preferences
  • Shortlist for interview process will be announced separately by the respective institute. Only those who are shortlisted will be invited to the interview process (the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview).
  • Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to upload copies of necessary certificates by the respective institute.
  • Final selection list will be announced by the respective institute on April 29, 2019.
  • Candidate’s profile will be given due weightage in final selection round
  • Final Merit list of selected candidates for MBA 2019-21 programme will be based on Candidate’s composite score which includes CAT 2018 score, WAT & PI score and Candidate’s Profile

DMS-IIT Delhi Admission Process
Following steps are included in the DMS-IIT Delhi Admission process:

  • Step 1: The candidate must have applied, appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2018 to be considered for first stage screening process for admission at DMS-IIT Delhi
  • Step 2: Candidate must apply for MBA Admission 2019 at DMS-IIT Delhi latest by January 27, 2019 Midnight
  • Step 3: Candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2018 score, who have applied for admission to DMS-IIT Delhi and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of DMS-IIT Delhi   
  • Step 4: The WAT & PI will be held in the second week of March, 2019 for domestic candidates. For International candidates the WA & PI will be held thereafter. After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by DMS-IIT Delhi to  successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in WAT & PI, academics, extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others
  • Step 5: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April 2019 (Tentatively on April 29, 2019 with the release of final merit list for admission) on the basis of Final Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.
