XLRI Jamshedpur, one of the highly ranked and internationally accredited B-schools has opened  its application for admission to all the PGDM 2019-21 programmes. XLRI will accept only XAT 2019 exam scores for admission 2019. The last date to apply for admission XAT 2019 and XLRI Jamshedpur will close simultaneously on November 30, 2018 without late fee and on December 7, 2018 with late fee. Apply now 

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur will shortlist you on the basis of your XAT 2019 score immediately after the XAT 2019 result is declared in the last week of January 2019. The admission application process at XLRI Jamshedpur is to close on November 30, 2018.

The XLRI application process is online and can be completed in a few minutes time. XLRI is the XAT 2019 conducting authority also and has provided the facility to apply for XAT 2019 and for one or multiple management programmes of XLRI with a common application form.

XLRI admission criteria and the process for PGDM 2019-21 are based on XAT 2019 scores for domestic candidates and on XAT 2019 or GMAT (Taken between December 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018) scores for NRI and foreign nationals.

The PGDM programme at XLRI has consistently been ranked amongst the top management programmes in the country and among the top-05 best B Schools in India by Outlook, Business Today, The Week, India Today  among others. The Government of India, MHRD NIRF Ranking 2018 has placed XLRI Jamshedpur among top 10 B-schools in Management category.

XLRI Jamshedpur Admission Eligibility
XLRI offer 2 years full time PGDM (Business Management), PGDM (Human Resource Management) and 15 months full time PGDM (General Management) programmes apart from two Doctor Level Programmes. XLRI has prescribed different eligibility criteria for the PGDM 2019-21 programmes, commencing in June 2019:

XLRI Eligibility Criteria for PGDM (BM) & PGDM (HRM)
To meet the XLRI eligibility criteria, an applicant must possess a strong and consistent academic background.

  1. For 2 years full time PGDM (BM), PGDM (HRM) 2019-21 batch, the candidate must hold a recognized bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline.
  2. XLRI has not prescribed any minimum percentage of marks in graduation to apply for admission to PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM)
  3. All Indian candidates should appear and apply for XAT 2019.
  4. NRI and Foreign candidates may apply either through GMAT (Taken between December 1, 2016 and December 30, 2018) or through XAT 2019.
  5. Those applying through XAT 2019 must submit the common application form for XAT 2019 and XLRI Admission before November 30, 2018 without late fee or by December 7, 2018 with late fee. 
  6.  A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, their final examination should be completed by June 10, 2019.
  7.  It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by XLRI Jamshedpur and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination at a later date as decided by XLRI 
  8.  If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by XLRI Jamshedpur by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100
  9. Work experience is not mandatory for PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) programs. Fresh graduates and those with work experience can apply.
  10. Relevant work experience after graduation will only be considered.

XLRI Eligibility Criteria for PGDM (GM)

  1. For 15 months full time PGDM (General Management) 2019-20 batch, the candidate must hold a recognized bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline.
  2. XLRI has not prescribed any minimum percentage of marks in graduation to apply for admission to PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM)
  3. Candidates can apply either through GMAT (Taken between December 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018) or through XAT 2019.
  4. Those applying through XAT 2019 must submit the common application form for XAT 2019 and XLRI Admission before November 30, 2018 without late fee or by December 7, 2018 with late fee. 
  5. Five Years of Work experience is mandatory for PGDM (GM). No Fresh Graduate can apply
  6. The applicant must have at least five years of managerial experience as on March 31, 2019 in an organization of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector after completing graduation 
  7. The work experience of the candidate employed in a full-time job only will be considered.
  8. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. XLRI Jamshepur Admission Criteria
XLRI Admission Criteria 2019-21 is a two step process. The first step is shortlisting criteria based on XAT 2019 or GMAT exam score and the second step is admission final selection criteria consisting of GD-PI Round.

  1. XLRI Jamshedpur Shortlisting Criteria
    The first part of XLRI Admission criteria is its shortlisting criteria for final selection round. A candidate will be shortlisted by XLRI Jamshedpur on following criteria:
  • Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their scores obtained in XAT 2019 or GMAT score as per the admission eligibility criteria  
  • The shortlisting is based on the sectional as well as overall score in XAT 2019 or GMAT
  • The academic profile of the candidates also play a key role in shortlisting for PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) programmes
  • XLRI promotes academic and gender diversity in its class rooms. It may award some weightage to the female candidates and the candidates coming from diverse back ground.
  • For PGDM (GM) relevant and quality work experience of 5 years and above will be considered in shortlisting
  • The names of shortlisted candidates will be announced by January 31, 2019
  1. XLRI Final Selection Criteria
  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to the XLRI PGDM programmes for which they have applied
  • The Personal Interview Round for PGDM (BM), PGDM (HRM) and PGDM (GM) candidates through XAT or GMAT will be conducted between mid- February and March 2019 in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Jamshedpur  
  • For PGDM (GM) Programmes only, the candidates who cannot be present physically for the XLRI interviews due to their being out of the country, interviews would be carried out in online mode via Internet. GMP Interviews can be conducted over G-talk / Skype for overseas candidates. Candidate need to send email at [email protected] for scheduling their interview online after result.
  •  The selection list is based on a composite score, which takes into account the applicant’s  academic record, entrance test scores (XAT 2019/GMAT), Work experience and performance in the PI Round
  • XLRI will release the final admission list in the month of April/May 2019 and the session would commence in the middle of June 2019

XAT Score Cut Off  
XLRI Jamshedpur XAT 2019 cut offs for all the three PGDM programmes commencing 2019 are expected to remain different. Besides, XLRI gives higher emphasis on other quality parameters in its admission process. Going by the past trends, following cut offs are expected to be applied for XLRI admission 2019:

GMAT Cut offs

  • PGDM (BM): Candidates with a GMAT score of 720 & above can expect to be called for Interview and GD.
  • PGDM (HRM): Candidates with a GMAT score of 700 & above can expect to be called for Interview and GD.
  • PGDM (GM): Applicants with a GMAT score of more than 630 can expect to be called for Interview and GD

XLRI Admission Process
Following steps are included in the XLRI Jamshedpur Admission process:

Step 1: Register & Apply for XAT 2019 & for XLRI Admission

  • Apply through XAT 2019 by paying a fee of Rs. 1700/- and also for XLRI @ Rs 300/- each for every PGDM 2019 programme
  • Foreign and NRI candidates registering through XAT 2019 should pay US$50 for XAT 2019 and US$25 for each XLRI PGDM Programme
  • Foreign and NRI candidates applying for XLRI Admission through GMAT should pay Rs.5000/- for XLRI PGDM Admission
  • Last date to apply is November 30 2018 without late fee and is December 7, 2018 with late fee.

Step 2: Shortlist
Based on the applicable XAT 2019 or GMAT cut offs and other parameters, XLRI will shortlist sufficient number of candidates for final selection round. All such candidates must have applied to the programme and must satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme  

Step 3: Personal Interview Round
After the Shortlisting process, group discussion, personal interviews, writing tests will be held in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Jamshedpur  in February/March 2019 to select the suitable students for the programme. The final selection is based on profile, performance in entrance exam, performance in Interview round, work experience among others

Step 4: Final Admission Offer
Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April/First week of May 2019 on the basis of Final Merit Score

PGDM (HRM)

PGDM (GM)
The General Management Programme aims at augmenting the skill-sets and competencies of practicing managers. The focus of program is to prepare current managers for the leadership roles.The 15 month, full time AICTE recognized course incorporates a 3-month field based training in a functional area. Core competencies are developed in Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Production Management and Strategic Management.
