TANCET 2024 MBA question paper will have 5 sections to evaluate the knowledge and skills of the test takers. TANCET 2024 exam date is March 9, 2024 and will be conducted by Anna University Chennai, Tamilnadu for admission to MBA 2024-26 batch and for other programmes offered by different colleges in Tamilnadu.

 

Before we go deep to understand the section wise TANCET syllabus, we should know the TANCET 2024 exam pattern, total number of questions, time duration, maximum marks and other details:

 

TANCET 2024 Pattern & Syllabus: Key Highlights
Following are the key features of TANCET 2024 exam:

  • TANCET 2024 is paper pen based exam
  • TANCET 2024 question paper will consist of 100 questions in MCQ format with maximum score of 100 marks.
  • TANCET Exam for MBA admission 2024-26 will be a single test paper and test duration is 2 hours from 2.30PM to 4.30 PM.
  • Each question in TANCET is followed by 4 alternate answer options.
  • Each correct answer in TANCET 2024 is awarded +1 mark and each wrong answer will carry 1/3 negative marking.
  • While attempting TANCET 2024 test paper, a candidate has to choose the correct answer and shade the corresponding small open box provided for that question in the answer sheet with a black ball point pen only.
  • Another thing to remember in TANCET 2024 exam is that- in case more than answer option is chosen and more than one answer box is shaded for any question, then it will be treated as wrong answer and 1/3 mark will be deducted as negative marking.

As per the revised TANCET syllabus & pattern 2024, the TANCET question paper will consist of 5 sections with a total of 100 questions. TANCET question pattern reveals that you need to ensure high score in all the sections as there is also a sectional score cut off in many MBA colleges for shortlisting.

TANCET 2024 Syllabus At a Glance
TANCET 2024 question paper will have 5 sections with syllabus to evaluate the candidate’s ability in following areas:

Section-1: Data Analysis Syllabus

  • Number of Questions: 20
  • Questions are in sets
  • All MCQs
  • Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

Syllabus Highlights: TANCET 2024 syllabus for Data Analysis will have questions to evaluate the candidate’s ability to identify critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from given typical business situations.

 

Major Topics: The questions will be in sets and individual ones also. Major topics in this section are Table, Pie charts, graphs, comparative data among others.

 

Type of Questions: A paragraph with the data to take business decisions is given. You need to analyse business situation on the basis of information given in the paragraph and answer the questions following the paragraph.

 

Section-2: Reading Comprehension Syllabus

  • Number of Questions: 20
  • One RC Passage is followed by multiple questions
  • All MCQs
  • Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

Syllabus Highlights: Reading Comprehension syllabus in TANCET 2022 will have questions based on the contents of RC Passage. The questions will be formed with a view to evaluate the skill of the candidate in answering questions based on the passages in the comprehension.

 

Major Topics & Type of Questions: Reading Comprehension passages are based on current affairs, literature, abstract topics. RC Passages are short. Apart from the questions based on the information in the RC Passages, questions are asked on the Synonyms, Antonyms, idioms, phrases, One word substitution as used in RC Passages.

 

Section-3: Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus

  • Number of Questions: 20
  • Covers all topics in Mathematics
  • All MCQs
  • Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

Syllabus Highlights:TANCET syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude consists of all the key topics in Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Number system, Modern Math among other topics.

 

Major Topics: Averages, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Time Speed & Distance, Time & Work, Number System, HCF LCM, Percentages, Ratios, Mixtures & Allegations, Quadratic Equations, Linear Equations, Logarithms, Series and Progressions, Binomial Theorem, Surds & Indices, Functions, Inequalities, Modulus, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate Geometry, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Set Theory

 

Type of Questions:The questions are individual ones and will be formed to evaluate the skill on solving mathematical problems at graduate level including those learnt in plus two or equivalent level.

 

Section-4: Data Sufficiency Syllabus

  • Number of Questions: 20
  • Includes Data Interpretation also
  • All questions are MCQ type
  • Difficulty level: Moderate

Syllabus Highlights:Questions in Data Sufficiency section will test the candidates on determining data sufficiency for answering certain questions using the given data and the knowledge of mathematics and use of day-to-day facts

 

Major Topics: Questions in this section include the questions in sets on Data Interpretation topics like Pie Chart, Line Graph, Bar Graph, Tables. Major topics are Number System, Arithmetic, Algebra among others.

 

Type of Questions: Apart from core data based questions, candidates will also face questions based on statements labeled as I and II to determine whether the statements either I or II or both I and II are sufficient to solve the problem

 

Section-5: General English Syllabus

  • Number of questions:20
  • Grammar, Vocabulary, Usage major areas
  • All MCQs
  • Difficulty Level: Moderate

Syllabus Highlights: The TANCET syllabus in this section is wider as it includes entire English Grammar section, vocabulary, usage, sentence formation and picking out errors from them.

 

Major Topics: Parts of Speech, Sentence formation, Tenses, Conditionals, Idioms, Phrases, One word substitution, Picking the odd man out, formation of correct sentence among others

 

Type of Questions: The questions will test the knowledge on written English with questions on errors in usage, grammar, punctuation, fill in the blanks with correct vocabularywords, spotting synonyms, antonyms, using correct phrase and idiom among others.
