XAT 2019 Result is expected on or before January 31, 2019. XLRI declares XAT Result in a month’s time from the date of XAT Exam date. Except for the XAT exam result date in 2018, all the earlier XAT exam results were declared much before January 31. The delay in declaration of XAT final result for 2018 occurred mainly because it was the first online computer based test and due to the technical glitches re-test at some of the centres was conducted which caused the delay in XAT result.
After declaring the XAT exam result 2019, XLRI will make public the cut offs in different PGDM programmes and will announce the shortlists. The candidates who score around 96 percentile or above in XAT 2019 result, are expected to be considered for flagship PGDM-BM in XLRI. The individual messages to shortlisted candidates will also be sent by XLRI after the XAT exam 2019 Result date.
XLRI to publish XAT Question Paper before XAT 2019 Result Date
Before the declaration of XAT exam result, XLRI will publish XAT 2019 Test paper and will ask for candidates’ responses by a specified date.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2018 was the first online computer based exam conducted by XLRI for admission to more than 150 MBA/PGDM colleges in 2018 on January 7, 2018.

You can download your XAT score card by login to official XAT website with your XAT 2018 registration ID and the XAT password till February 20, 2018. Earlier XLRI published XAT 2018 question paper and Candidates responses form on February 6 and closed it on February 8.
No candidate with exact 100 percentile
XAT 2018 has not awarded 100 percentile even to the highest scorer in the exam. The score has been ranked at 99.9+ percentile. As per the different percentile calculation method in XAT 2018 no candidate has scored 100 percentile. According to XAT official, “Our percentile calculation is slightly different and the topper does not score hundred percentile.”
XAT 2018: No Negative percentile
XAT 2018 result does not have candidates with negative percentile. According to XAT official “All students got positive percentiles (There is no possibility of negative percentile)”. It means that no candidate can get negative scores as per the score normalization process adopted in XAT 2018.
XAT 2018 Scoring pattern
XAT 2018 was divided in 2 parts and was to be attempted in 210 minutes. The first part with 3 sections in XAT 2018 had 72 questions and had to be attempted in 170 minutes. All the questions were in Multiple Choice form (MCQs). Answers to these 72 questions have been taken into account to calculate the sectional as well as the overall percentile score. The correct answer to each of these 72 questions carried a score of one mark and wrong answer attracted the penalty of 1/4 negative mark.
XAT 2018 scoring pattern has imposed a penalty of 0.05 mark per question, in case the test taker left more than 12 questions unattempted. This has also turned the table in favour of the test takers who kept in mind this fact.
XAT Result Declaration Delayed
XAT 2018 result declaration is further delayed. XLRI official has informed that XAT result 2018 will be out on February 10 or 11 now as final checks and verification are in progress. Accordingly, there is no possibility of declaring the XAT 2018 result today on Feb 9.
XAT Question Paper Released before XAT Result Date
Earlier XLRI had released the XAT 2018 questions paper with opportunity for candidates to send their response before XAT result declaration. Candidates' response start date was February 6 and the last date to submit the candidate's response was February 8, 2018. Candidates who have appeared in XAT 2018 on January 7, 2018 and in the XAT 2018 retest on February 3, could login to submit their response regarding the XAT question paper which is available on XAT 2018 official website.
To submit the response, candidates must do the following:
- Click on Candidates Response on official XAT 2018 website
- login with your XAT 2018 ID
- Enter XAT 2018 password
- Enter XAT 2018 date of exam from the drop down menu (January 7 or Retest date February 3)
- It will lead you to response form that you can submit in case of your query
XAT Exam Result date extended to February 9, 2018
XAT 2018 result date has been extended to February 9 from earlier January 31, 2018. Now, XAT 2018 result will be out on February 9 along with individual answer sheet and score card. As there is XAT 2018 retest at a few XAT 2018 exam centres on February 3 for those candidates who could not complete their XAT exam due to technical glitches, XAT result declaration has gone beyond its legacy of being declared in the month of January. This was first online computer based XAT exam. XLRI official has confirmed that XAT 2018 Result date will be announced after February 3, 2018.
Earlier XLRI had stated 'Results will be available on the website by 31st January 2018'. Besides, the past trends in XAT result declaration reveal that XAT result is declared 7-10 days before the officially pre-announced XAT result date. However, on account of XAT retest, it will take another 5-6 days for XLRI to compile and declare the XAT 2018 result after the retest. There are more than 150 B-schools including XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT, XIMB, TAPMI who will accept XAT 2018 scores.
Steps to download XAT Score Card
You can download your score card in following steps:
- Login to official website for XAT 2018 xatonline.net.in
- Click on the Score card icon
- Enter your XAT 2018 registration ID, Password/Date of birth as required
- Your score card will be displayed
- Check and verify your Name, Registration number, test venue, exam date
- The Score card will contain your scaled score, percentile score for each section and overall
- Download your score card and take print
- Cross check with your expected score you calculated on the basis of earlier published question paper and answer sheet
- To make the scoring process more transparent, XLRI also releases the XAT question paper and XAT answer sheet for each candidate. The XAT question paper and XAT answer sheet is made available individually for the candidates with their login Id and password.
XLRI Announces shortlist immediately after XAT result
XLRI announces its shortlist in a day or two from the date of XAT result declaration. SPJIMR announces its shortlist twice – Once on the basis of profile and other on the basis of XAT exam scores, although the candidates shortlisted on the basis of profile also have to score minimum required percentile in XAT exam.
IMT, XIMB, TAPMI, GIM, Great Lakes, LIBA among others announce their shortlist after a few days from the XAT result declaration date.
The candidates who have not scored a very high percentile in CAT 2017 and have scored a good percentile in XAT 2018 can apply to many top MBA colleges on the basis of XAT 2018 scores.

There are 3 sections in XAT 2018 which will determine your percentile. All these three sections carry negative marking of 1/4 . There is no negative marking for section-4 and 5.
The first part with 3 sections in XAT 2018 has 74 questions and had to be attempted in overall time limit. All the questions were in Multiple Choice form (MCQs). Answers to these 74 questions are taken into account to calculate the sectional as well as the overall percentile score. The correct answer to each of these 74 questions carries a score of one mark and wrong answer attracts the penalty of 1/4 negative mark.
