IMC Awards 2014: AICTE endorses awards; to recommend winning best-practices

After a flying start last year when the then Union HRD Minister Dr Shashi Tharoor presented the IMC Awards 2013 to winners including SPJIMR & IIM Kashipur, its the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) that is now recognizing the importance of this highly credible award platform by MBAUniverse.com.

Expressing his support, Dr SS Mantha, Chairman, AICTE said, IMC Awards is a good initiative to research, document and highlight good work that our B-schools are doing. AICTE will review these best-practices. He further added that if AICTE found the quality & documentation of Award Winners to be of high order, it may circulate the best-practices followed by the IMC Award winners for adoption by other B-schools.

This should bring cheers to progressive B-schools & Universities who have been doing good work but have lacked a platform to showcase their initiatives. However, B-schools will have to hurry as the last date to register for IMC Award Nominations is June 7.

There is no fee for participation by institutions. More than twenty leading B-schools from all parts of India have already begun the process of submitting the Award Nomination Form.

The IMC Award 2014 will be judged by highly respected MBA educators -- Dr Bakul Dholakia, Former Director, IIM Ahmedabad; Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University and Dr Rishikesha Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore.

Three contemporary themes have been chosen for inviting nominations.They are:
1. Expanding Applicant Pool: Approaches that work 2. Rethinking What to teach and How: Innovations in Curriculum & Pedagogy 3. Deepening Industry-Institute engagement: New models for greater connect

The inaugural IMC Awards 2013 received an overwhelming response with 50+ well known B-schools sending their nominations. Union HRD Minister Dr Shashi Tharoor presented IMC Awards 2013 to 10 worthy winners at a glittering ceremony on August 3, 2013 in New Delhi. The IMC Awards 2014 promise to be bigger and better, with greater participation from 100+ B-schools & Universities.

Meanwhile, adding more fire-power to a star-studded speaker panel, PepsiCo Chairman Mr D Shivakumar will deliver a keynote address at5th Indian Management Conclave (IMC) 2014onAugust 8. IMC Awards will be held on Day Two of 5th IMC 2014 Conference.
