IIM Kozhikode held induction ceremony for the 16th batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP 16) with a record 619 students joining the program, a jump of 17% from the previous year! The batch includes more than 24% of female participants, which is the highest ever gender diversity that the programme has ever witnessed. The unique IIMK collaboration with Deloitte and JSW, which saw participants nominated for the programme by these two prestigious businesses and accepted into the programme after a demanding multi-stage process, is another noteworthy aspect of EPGP 16.
IIM Kozhikode Executive Post Graduate Programme Batch Profile
The current cohort also recorded more than 24% of female participants, which is the highest ever gender diversity that the programme has ever witnessed. Other highlights are:
- The cohort jointly represents 150+ firms and more than 50% of the batch is constituted of participants in the age group of 30-39.
- Candidates represent diverse areas such as IT/software, public sector, Energy, Aerospace, Education, Consulting, Manufacturing, Automotive, Banking & Insurance etc.
- Candidates with 06-09 years of experience make up for 32% of the batch.
- EPGP-16 also stands out for the special IIMK partnership with Deloitte and JSW, witnessing participants nominated for the programme by these two leading companies, who made it to the programme after clearing the rigorous multi-stage process.
Batch Inauguration by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee & Mr. Shailendra Katyal, MD, Lenovo India
Mr. Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director of Lenovo India Pvt Ltd graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode presided over the induction ceremony for IIMK’s Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP 16) held on December 12, 2023 at IIMK Campus.
Addressing the students, Mr Shailendra Katyal encouraged the participants to reinvent themselves with a focus on developing a learning mind-set with ‘unlearning’ and ‘relearning’ as its key traits. Taking the age-old debate on ‘specialists’ vs ‘generalists’ head-on, he emphasised on the importance of creating ‘pockets of expertise’ to counter future global business challenges which are rapidly transitioning from VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) to BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-Linear and Incomprehensible) world-order.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, congratulated the candidates for making into the prestigious and globally recognized EMBA programme. He said, “This tremendous response to IIMK’s Executive Programme is a shining testimony to the Institute’s standout academic rigour, high corporate acceptability and rapidly gaining global recognition.”
Earlier, Prof. Deepa Sethi, Dean (Outreach, Executive Education & Internationalisation) welcomed the participant to the Campus. IIMK’s EPGP Programme which holds the distinction of getting featured in QS World University Global Executive MBA Rankings 2022 for third-time running, is now among top EMBA courses in the world, after initially making its global debut in 2020.
