NMIMS School of Management earns AACSB Accreditation; Becomes 7th B-school in India with coveted global recognition

The School of Business Management at NMIMS Deemed-to-be University has become 7^th B-school in India to receive the coveted AACSB Accreditation. This was announced on May 2, 2018 in USA by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which also awarded Accreditation to 6 other B-schools in the World.

School of Business Management at NMIMS has now become the 7^th Management Institute in India along with ISB, IIM Calcutta, XLRI, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI and IFIM to have earned the AACSB Accreditation.

NMIMS School of Business Management Mumbai is one of India’s premier business schools. Its alumni include Lalit Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, V-Mart Retail; Avani Davda, MD, Godrej Nature's Basket; Kaku Nakate, President, Bank Of America (India); Shailesh Chaturvedi - CEO, Tommy Hilfiger India amongst others.

Other six management institutes and universities, apart from NMIMS, which have been awarded AACSB accreditation Globally are Bournemouth University; Groupe ICHEC-ISC Saint Louis – ISFSC; University of Lethbridge; University of Maribor faculty of Economics and Business; University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and Western Connecticut State University.

Achieving AACSB Accreditation is a process of rigorous internal focus, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor, and peer-reviewed evaluation. During this multi-year path, NMIMS focussed on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards required excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement. 

With the May 2 accreditations, a total of 817 institutionsacross 53 countries and territories have earned AACSB Accreditation in Business.          

Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide. AACSB Accreditation recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning.
