LBSIM holds National HR Conference

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM), New Delhi organized National HR Conference on HR Beyond Boundaries: Challenges and Opportunities on September 28, 2013 at their Dwarka Campus. The conference was conducted to convey the existing and the future young leaders about the world wide trends in Human Resource practices and their prospective in the year 2013. Mr. A.K. Balyan, MD and CEO of Petronet, inaugurated the conference, in the presence of Shri Anil Shastri, former Union Minister and Chairman of the Board of Governors at LBSIM and Prof. P.K. Biswas, Director, LBSIM. The conference focused on the challenges and opportunities of HR department in the organization.

Various HR Professionals from leading Corporates attended and shared their views at the conference. They included: Mr. Satyendra Gaur, GM-HR-Adani Wilmar; Mr. Rohil Khanna, Associate Director-E & Y; Mr. Vikas Rai Bhatnagar, Group Chief People and Wellness Officer-Shree Cement; Mr. K. Sridhar, Founder & Director-Kelsa Solutions; Mr. Ramesh Kumar, EVP-HR and Training-IFCO TOKIO; Mr. Anshul Khurana, Sr. Talent Partner-Adobe Systems; Mr. Nirmal Singh Raghav, VP-Idea Cellular; Mr. Behram Sherdiwala, President-HR-ACC; Mrs. Vijaya Sampath, HR Business Advisor-BMR Advisors and Mr. Nitin Khindria, AGM-HR and Head Training- International Tractors.

The conference was divided into two technical sessions: Latest Trends in Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) and HR and Generation Next.

Addressing the inaugural session, Mr. Balyan emphasized that the HR must work in accordance with Business Model and should have the skill of adaptability in the changing business environment as per the organizational needs and aspirations. He focused that HR dept should take care of the capabilities of their talent to increase the organisations market share.

Shri Anil Shastri, former Union Minister and Chairman of the Board of Governors at LBSIM, delivered the presidential address and stressed on the need to become pro-active so that they can eradicate certain major issues in their organization with respect to People management. Discussing the conference theme, Dr. P.K. Biswas, Director LBSIM, said that the role of HR is not only within the four walls of organization but, they should contribute to the community and society. Finally, Dr.Bindu Chhabra; Conference Convenor spoke about the various branches of Human Resource Department and the present scenario of HR in the world of Competition and progression.
New Delhi Based Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management offers two year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Finance. Prof PK Biswas took over as director of LBSIM on August 1, 2013. He has three decades of experience in research, teaching, training and consulting in the field of development management.
