With CAT exams just round the corner, the top B schools have also opened their Admission process for academic session 2014-16. As an aspirant you need to choose which B school to target for Admissions in session 2014-15. A few elite B-schools MDI Gurgaon, IMI Delhi, IMT Ghaziabad have announced to close their admission application process on October 15, a day before CAT exam starts. Many others will close their applications in November and December.

But how do you choose a B-school to apply? Apart from scores of the entrance exams, various factors such as course fee, placement, seats and location play a crucial role in making this choice.

Placement: Most of the top B-schools publish their placement report every year. Good placement records at B schools offer you an assurance of job opportunity after you complete your MBA programme. The table below brings you the Median Salary for the Batch 2011-13 which has passed out this year. Inspite of unfavorable economic conditions, median salary at top B schools like SPJIMR, NMIMS, MDI, SIBM have crossed Rs. 10 lakhs.

Fees: Within comparable B-schools, fees play a crucial role. After all, lower the fee, lesser is your loan burden. While B schools like KJ Somaiya, AIMS, MITSOB have their tuition fee below Rs 10 lakhs, there are many Top B schools whose fee structure have crossed Rs 10 Lakhs like MDI, IMI Delhi and Fore. The table below mentions only the tuition fee for all the B schools for the Academic year 2013-15.

Seats: Number of seats is very crucial for students as it enhances the chance of getting into your desired B school. The below table shows you the total seats for the flagship programme of the various B schools where application process for 2014 is open.
