XAT 2014: Key Details
While CAT is the gateway to 13 IIMs and other top B schools for their full-time MBA programmes. Similarly, XLRI Jamshedpur conducts XAT for admission to its management programmes, the XAT scores are also accepted by around 115 institutes top institutes like XLRI, XIMB, LIBA, SP JAIN, TAPMI, XIMR, GIM, XIME, BIMTECH, Asia Pacific Institute, IMT-Ghaziabad and many others.
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2014, conducted for admission to XLRI Jamshedpur and many other top B-schools in India, will be held on January 5, 2014. The registration window for the same began on August 12 and the same will close on November 22.
There are minor adjustments to the pattern of the last year exam, General Knowledge will be part of the Main Paper. However, it will not be used for the cut-offs and determining the overall percentile for short-listing the candidates for personal interview. XLRI and some other Associates member may use GK marks for the final assessment/selection.
The number of questions will be 85 (+/- 5) for the three sections and GK will contain 20 (+/- 3) questions. Overall, this part of examination will be 2 hours and 30 -35 minutes. This will be followed by an Essay for 20- minutes. Essay will also be evaluated for the final selection to XLRI.

NMAT: Key Details
NMIMS School of Business Management (SBM) conducts NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) for admission to its different management programmes including two Year full time programs MBA, MBA - Banking, MBA - Capital Market, MBA-HR, & MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai campus and PGDM at Bengaluru & Hyderabad Campuses.
NMIMS Business School opened registrations for its admission test NMAT 2014 on4th Julyfor admission to MBA 2014-16. The registrations closed on24th September. NMIMS will conduct NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) 2014 in almost one and a half month window which began on 5th October and will end on 18th December 2013.
NMAT 2014 is being conducted at 18 centers located at Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Bhillai, Bhopal, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Patna.
NMAT is an objective type multiple-choice test. There will be no descriptive type questions.

The candidate should note that it is important for them to perform well relative to other candidates in each of the 3 sections of the test as the score of each section and the overall score is used to shortlist the candidate for the second stage of the selection process as well as in the final ranking. Please note that there will be no negative marking.

SNAP 2013: Key Details
Symbiosis International University has revamped admission process for its B-schools as it introduced single registration and single PI-WAT for admission to all its constituent B-schools for academic session 2014-16.
According to the new process, One Test, One Registration, One Interview, the candidates will have to fill a single application form for all the B-schools after registering for SNAP. The PI & WAT will also be centralized and shortlisted candidates on the basis of SNAP and academic profile will have to appear for only one PI-WAT session unlike the past years where each of the B-schools under the University conducted their separate GD-PI sessions. The Group Exercise (GE), which was an important part of the evaluation process until last year, has also been scrapped. The new admission process covers all the B-schools under SIU including SIBM Pune, SICSR, SCMHRD, SIIB, SITM, SIMS, SIMC Pune, SIOM Nasik, SCIT, SIHS, SIBM-Bengaluru, SIMC- Bengaluru and SSBM.
The SNAP test will have four sections carrying total of 180 marks. While General English, QA-DI, General awareness will carry 40 marks each, Logical Reasoning will carry 60 marks. The duration of the test will be of 120 minutes.
The Registration window opened on September 5 and will continue till November 26, 2013. After registering for SNAP, candidates will have to go for a single registration for all the Symbiosis B-schools and will have to pay depending on the number of institute they wish to apply.
IIFT: Key Details
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) will conduct a written examination on 24th November, 2013 for admission to its MBA-IB (MBA in International Business) program 2014-16 at IIFT New Delhi & IIFT Kolkata. Application process for IIFT closed on September 3, 2013.
The entrance procedure is a 3-stage process: First is the written test covering areas of Quantitative Ability, Logic and Reasoning, English etc. The short-listed people will then have to appear for the Group Discussions and Essay Writing. The final round consists of Personal Interviews. Test will be held in following 20 cities all over India. Including Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.
The IIFT written entrance exam will be a multiple choice objective type test in English with questions from the following areas:

-English Comprehension
- General Knowledge & Awareness
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Analysis
IIFT keeps on experimenting with number of questions as well as number of sections. IIFT is one of the rare exams that allot per question differential marks to each section.

IBSAT: Key Details
ICFAI Business School will conduct IBS Aptitude Test (IBSAT) between December 16, 2013 and January 7, 2014 for admission to MBA and PGPM program at IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Bangalore, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Hyderabad, IBS Dehradun, IBS Jaipur, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai and IBS Pune campuses and PhD program at IBS Hyderabad campus.
The candidates can apply for the test till December 10, 2013.

IBSAT is based on CBT (Computer Based Test) format and consists of multiple choice questions. The test is for 2 hours duration and carries questions on quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension. Candidates who qualify based on IBSAT 2013/ GMAT / CAT score will be called for the selection process at IBS Hyderabad in February 2014. The selection process comprises of Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
