CAT 2014 Exam Centre provides last opportunity to edit personal profile even after the test

CAT Centre 2014 has provided the once for all facility to edit your personal profile even after the CAT 2014 exam. CAT 2014 will be held on November 16 and 22, 2014 and according to the CAT Centre 2014 Discrepancy, if any, in Date of Birth (printed above) and/or Gender can be edited on the CAT website from 25th Nov 2014, 10:00 AM to 28th Nov 2014, 05:00 PM. The facility to edit your personal details will be available for 4 days after the exam.

Registration process denied the facility earlier

CAT 2014 in order to be more aspirant friendly has made the registration easier with number of firsts in the process. However the process denied any amendment in personal profile once the details were submitted. While entering the personal details in the first part of registration for CAT 2014, number of candidates entered wrong date of birth.

In fact the format for filling up the date of birth in CAT 2014 registration was DD/MM/YYYY, no candidate was supposed to write it since the calendar icon had to be used to select the correct date. After submission no change was possible and candidates were worried whether they would be allowed to appear for CAT 2014 due to the mistakes.

Format misunderstood

The format to fill up the date of birth was misunderstood. A few candidates found that after submission of registration form, their date of birth got changed and as per the registration instructions for CAT 2014, no amendment was possible in Date of Birth. It could be changed till the candidate did not click on the submit button. Number of candidates misunderstood the format and filled up wrong date of birth and also clicked on the submit button due to which they couldnt change it.

Similarly in a frenzy to move swiftly lest there would be any technical problem in the registration process, gender icon was not properly selected in the process of CAT 2014 registration and was wrongly filled up.
Later such candidates approached the CAT 2014 helpdesk, sent mails and requested to provide the opportunity to amend the personal details in the registration form.

One and the last opportunity
In a rare friendly gesture for CAT 2014 aspirants, IIMs have now extended an opportunity to the candidates to rectify the discrepancy in date of birth as well as gender with effect from November 25 to November 28, 2014. This will be one and the last opportunity for the CAT 2014 aspirants who made inadvertent mistake while filling up their personal details in the registration form.

It will not be out of place to mention that CAT 2014 also extended a similar helping hand to those who could not register for CAT 2014 till Sept 30, 2014 (the last date of registration) and hence reopened the registration process for one day on Oct 10, 2014. More than 7 thousand candidates registered for CAT 2014 in a single day.

Relax! No anxiety now; focus on preparation
CAT 2014 aspirants are advised not to get anxious about the mistakes in their personal profile. Now they should focus on their CAT 2014 preparation since the mistakes in personal details can be well amended after the exam in a 4 day rectification window from Nov 25 to Nov 28, 2014.

The facility will be made available on the CAT 2014 website till and candidate would not be required to approach the CAT 2014 Centre for rectification of discrepancy. They would be allowed to amend it with their CAT 2014 registered id on the given dates from 10 AM on Nov 25 to 5 PM on November 28, 2014. Please however, note that it is neither from 00 hrs nor upto 11.59 PM as was allowed in the reopening of registration process on Oct 10, 2014.
