The online application process for admission is to start in the 3rd week of September and will close on November 24, 2017, shares SPJIMR admission notification.

S P Jain Institute of management & Research (SPJIMR) Mumbai will accept scores of CAT 2017-to be conducted by IIMs on November 26, 2017; XAT 2018- to be conducted by XLRI on January 7, 2018 and GMAT – conducted by GMAC (test taken between January 1, 2015 onwards and December 31, 2017).

SPJIMR applicants have the opportunity to opt for two specializations at the time of application.The proposed last date to apply for admission at SPJIMR is November 24, 2017.

Announcing the eligibility criteria to apply for PGDM 2018-20, SPJIMR clarifies, ‘Applicant must possess a strong and consistent academic background. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA awarded in any discipline from a recognized university. Students in the final year of graduation can also apply. SPJIMR accepts CAT, XAT or GMAT. Work experience is not mandatory for this programme. Fresh graduates and those with up to 5 years of work experience can apply.’

Alongwith the details of admission process, SPJIMR has also provided the proposed sectional and overall CAT 2017 cut offs, XAT 2018 cut offs and GMAT score cut offs. Accordingly, it is not only CAT 2017 overall percentile or score which will be considered by SPJIMR Mumbai to shortlist the candidates for final admission round but sectional scores are also major criteria to shortlist the candidates.

Applicants who explore admission opportunity to PGDM 2018-20 batch in SPJIMR on the basis of CAT 2017 or XAT 2018 need to score minimum 85 overall and 75 sectional percentile in either of the 2 exams.

How to apply and appear in CAT 2017 & XAT 2018 
Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017, gateway to PGDM programmes to premier B schools like IIMs, SPJIMR, FMS, MDI is scheduled to be held on November 24, 2017 across 144 test cities in India. CAT 2017 applicants need to complete CAT online registration and online application process latest by September 20. Apart from registering and appearing in CAT 2017, the candidates have to apply to SPJIMR to seek admission to PGDM 2018-20 batch. Registration for CAT 2017 is open till September 20, 2017.

XAT 2018 will be conducted on January 7, 2018 in 47 cities across the country in a single session in online mode. XAT 2018 will be the first online computer based exam in the 60 years history of XLRI conducted XAT. Registration for XAT 2018 will remain open till November 30, 2017 without late fee and till December 15, 2017 with late fee. 

How to apply at SPJIMR
Applicants seeking admission to PGDM 2018-20 batch at SPJIMR, must complete and submit the application form online when the admission process opens in September 3rd week.

The application fee is Rs. 1200/- and may be revised by SPJIMR before opening of application process. The fee can be paid through credit card or net banking.

Intake at SPJIMR
The flagship PGDM 2018-20 batch at SPJIMR will have an intake of 240 students for Indian Nationals. An additional 36 seats will be available for PIO/OCI and Foreign Nationals. Hence the total intake for session 2018-20 will be 276 seats.

PGDM Fee structure
The two year fee of the PGDM batch 2018-20 is under revision. The programme fee for 2017-19 batch was Rs.16 lakhs. This fee includes tuition fee, basic hostel/ accommodation and global fast track. It does not include cost of travel, boarding, lodging, visa, insurance and incidentals for global fast track and placement fees.

SPJIMR - Selection Process
The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles. They are also expected to meet the qualifying scores in at least one of the entrance exams. The profiles are scored and the applicants are sorted into two groups: Profile based and Profile-cum-score based.

Following factors are taken into consideration in profile based shortlisting at SPJIMR, Mumbai:

  • Consistency of academic record
  • Relevance of work experience for the specialization
  • Versatility & achievements

Early interviews are convenient for students because it avoids overlapping with other interview calls during the admissions season. To the Institute, it gives an opportunity to stagger interviews and ensure that the interview process remains robust even though numbers being interviewed are large.

With its application schedule and admission criteria for PGDM 2018-20 batch, SPJIMR has released the important interview dates for the applicants. The interview is meant for the candidates who are shortlisted based on their profiles and CAT 2017 scores. During this interview schedule the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their profile and with CAT 2017, XAT 2018 and GMAT scores will be included in accordance with the admission policy of SPJIMR, Mumbai.
