IBSAT eligibility criteria, as published by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), are as follows:

• Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised university
• Minimum 15 years of formal education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern)
• Final-year graduation candidates are eligible, subject to producing the final degree certificate before the admission cut-off date
• No age limit and no cap on the number of attempts
• English must be the medium of instruction at graduation. Candidates not meeting this must submit TOEFL/NELT/IELTS scores (as per the previous year, by 31 May 2027 — to be confirmed in the IBSAT 2026 bulletin).

Unlike many national exams, IBSAT does not publish a public IBSAT answer key for candidate challenge, and scoring is handled internally by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. The IBS selection process will be scheduled in February–March 2027. The selection process will consist of a Micro Presentation and a Personal Interview.
