IIM Placement 2024: Two IIMs including IIM Kashipur, IIM Sirmaur yet to Complete Placements
Placement 2024 season is turning out to be like no other! With convocations over and new batches commenced, out of the 21 IIMs, two are yet to complete their placements. This situation is unprecedented as all the IIMs used to complete their placements much before finalising their admission process.
Even as the Month of August is closing, the number of IIMs including IIM Kashipur and IIM Sirmaur are yet to complete their placements. 1. Top IIMs Placements 2024: First Generation IIMs (Old IIMs) Placements Status
Good news is that all the top IIMs Placements 2024 are over. The first-generation IIMs have completed their MBA placements, although a lot lower than in previous years. But the bad news is that except for IIM Bangalore and IIM Mumbai, all IIMs have reported lower average salary figures. Dip in Average Salary is the highest for IIM Indore, a massive 15% drop. IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta have barely managed to avoid a dip in salaries. IIM Placement Process begins in much before the passing out date of the batch and is completed in few days. But despite the early start of IIM Placement process 2024, many top IIMs like IIM Kozhikode could complete the placement in May 2024

2. IIM Placements 2024: First Generation IIMs (Old IIMs) Average Salary Data for last four years
In absolute terms, at Rs 35.92 Lakhs per annum, IIM Bangalore has reported the highest average salary amongst the IIMs. IIM Indore’s average salary fell from about Rs 30 lakhs per annum (lpa) to Rs 25.68 lpa.

Again, the good news is that most of the second-generation IIMs have completed their MBA placements 2024. Surprising, IIM Udaipur is yet to announce completion of their placements 2024. Dip in Average Salary is the highest for IIM Raipur (6%), while IIM Ranchi has reported a solid 8% increase in their average salary.

4. IIM Placements 2024: Second Generation IIMs (New IIMs) Average Salary Data for last four years
An interesting observation from the data is that IIM Shillong, the first of the second-generation IIMs, established more than a decade after IIM Indore in a relatively remote location, has managed to exceed the salary of older IIM Indore! While the average 2024 salary reported by IIM Indore is Rs 25.68 LPA, the average 2024 salary reported by IIM Shillong is Rs 26.01 LPA.

5. IIM Placements 2024: Third Generation IIMs (Baby IIMs) Placements Status
For third-generation IIMs, Placement 2024 season is turning out to be their worst ever. Even as August is closing, six out of seven baby IIMs have completed their placements 2024. IIM Sambalpur has reported a big 14% drop in the average salary 2024 followed by IIM Bodh Gaya which has reported 13% dip in average salary in Placement 2024.

All the new IIMs are conducting their placement process for 2022-24 batch in person and as such the companies have also preferred to visit the IIM campus for placements instead of online assessment for the recruitment. Some of the top recruiters that visited IIM campus for placements include - Accenture, Bain & Company, BCG, Deloitte, E&Y, GEP, HCL Tech, Infosys, Kearney, KPMG, McKinsey, PwC, Axis Bank, Bank Of America, Barclays, CITI Bank, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, JSW, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Aditya Birla Group, Microsoft, ITC, HUL among others
While the top IIM Placements 2024 like that of IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode are already over, but the IIM Placement process at even some of the best IIMs like IIM Udaipur is yet to be over. Another key observation in top IIM Placements 2024, New and baby IIMs placements 2024 is that there is average salary dip in most of them. Despite marginal dip in average salary, the new IIMs are registering good salary packages for the increased size of their batches. It is also observed from the analysis of new IIM Placement trends above that the placement 2024 process is not as strong as was last year and most of the IIMs are yet to complete the placements 2024. Since nine of thirteen new and baby IIMs placements 2024 is yet to be completed, the IIM Placement scenario will be reviewed after more IIMs complete their placement process.
