Recognizing the quality of management education and Internationalization, the Global accreditation body European Federation for Management Development (EFMD) has awarded the prestigious EPAS (EFMD’s Program Accreditation System) - International Accreditation to Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore, flagship program - Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). SDMIMD Mysore is the first Indian B-school to receive EPAS Accreditation.

During and after the accreditation process, SDMIMD has been steadily working on improving internationalization of the program, having more focus on research and also reaching out to corporates for programs and consultancy.
A number of tailor-made programs have been organized over the last few years for companies apart from a string of open Management Development Programs. Another unique feature of interest to the corporate sector is the initiation of Applied Research Projects by the faculty of SDMIMD in collaboration with the students. These projects study data which are large in content and character and pave the way for more focused research of interest to companies
The international accreditations - EFMD-EPAS, has not only given a quality stamp to the SDMIMD’s flagship program – Post Graduate Diploma in Management PGDM program, but has opened avenues for International Placement Opportunities for SDMites. SDMIMD has entered into an arrangement with Highered EFMD for enabling students to participate in international placement processes initiated by Highered. The placement performance of the Institute is already 100% and all efforts are on to work on broad basing the type of companies coming to campus as well as increasing the average pay.

SDMIMD has collaborated with international management institutes of repute to conduct Exchange Programs for appreciation of management from an international perspective. Faculty and Students from both the collaborative institutions have an opportunity of participating in foreign exchange programs every year.

Specializations at SDMIMD
In their second year, students can opt to specialize in the areas of Marketing, Systems, Finance, Operations, or Human Resource Management. Students have the option of dual specialization. Students can also decide to be a generalist and not specialize in any area and instead opt for courses from various streams to make up the required minimum credits.
The PGDM program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The program has MBA Equivalence by Association of Indian Universities.
Towards the end of the first year, students are sent to “Socially Relevant Projects’ to enable them to study first-hand the working of these not-for-profit organizations and suggest improvements in their style of functioning. This project sensitizes the students to social realities and helps in making them rounded individuals. Apart from this, we also have courses in Ethics and Values in Management, as well as Sustainability.
SDMIMD is one of the very few institutions in the country hosting three international conferences every year. These attract a large number of academics from various parts of the country. These events are co-organized by the students giving them exposure to actual management of such events. Apart from these, we have close to 40 guest lectures by corporate experts, academics and social economists on various aspects of special significance to the student community
