IRMA Admission 2014: Admission test on February 23, 2014

The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) announces that it will conduct admission test on Issues of Social Concern on Sunday, February 23, 2014. All applicants who apply to IRMA with CAT 2013 scores have to appear for IRMA admissions test on Issues of Social Concern.

IRMA, during the past years had not been accepting the CAT scores and used to conduct its own entrance test. However, IRMA will acceptthe scores ofCAT 2013for the admission to 2014-16 batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PRM) and Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM), as the Supreme Courts decision on IRMA admission test for 2014 is pending. This is the first time IRMA will accept CAT scores.

After the Supreme Court verdict which stated that B-schools have to consider only 5 MBA entrance exams namely CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA and GMAT for their admission, IRMA, in 2012 filed a petition in this apex court to let the IRMA entrance exam continue for the admission to its Post Graduate course. The decision on the petition is still pending.

IRMA offers Post Graduate Programme in Rural Management and conductedIRMA entrance exam till last year, for the admission to the academic year 2013-15. . Programme in Rural Management (PRM) is recognized as an equivalent to a masters degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is approved by AICTE. Last date for apply for PRM 2014-16 and FPRM 2014 is January 20, 2014.

IRMA Admission 2014: Test Pattern All applicants who apply to IRMA with CAT 2013 scores have to appear for IRMA admissions test on Issues of Social Concern.

There will be 40 questions in the admission test of Issues of Social Concern and the duration of the test will be 25 minutes.

IRMA Admission 2014 No reservation is available for SC/ST/OBC/dap (differently abled person) candidate for Programme in Rural Management (PRM); however criteria for selecting such candidates may be lower than general category.

There is no provision for extra weightage of experience for admission to PRM programme. However, the experience is valued during personal interview.

IRMA received 10,859applications for the PRM 2013-15 programme and 1385 applications for the FPRM 2013.

Last date for apply for PRM 2014-16 and FPRM 2014 is January 20, 2014.

Examination form fees will be waived for candidates belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families who are required to send self attested proof of BPL status at IRMA with hard copy of application form, issued by appropriate authority to get exemption from paying application fees.
