XAT 2014 beats slowdown; 87,500 enrolled; registrations end Dec 2 midnight

As the registration deadline of XAT 2014 nears its end on Monday, December 2 midnight, the number of registrations seems to have beaten the slowdown. According to XLRI admission chairperson Dr Vishwa Ballabh till now 87, 500 students have got themselves registered for XAT 2014.

On December 1, 2013, a total number of 1303 students got themselves registered for XAT 2014. Earlier the last date of the registration for XAT 2014 was November 22, 2013 but it was extended to December 2, 2013. The exam will be held on January 5, 2014.

Taking a giant leap from the XAT 2012 when just 60, 316 students registered for the test, a total of 92,000 students had registered for XAT 2013. XAT 2014 also seems to be heading towards touching near about the same number of registrations as XAT 2013. XAT 2010 had witnessed a total number of 10, 2329 registrations.

Earlier CAT 2013 saw a decline of over 9% in its registrations from CAT 2012. Total registrations for CAT 2013 closed at around 194,516 while CAT 2012 registration was at 2.14 lakhs.

XAT 2014 will have the same pattern like that of XAT 2013 consisting of two parts to be attempted during three hours duration from 10.30 A.M. to 1.30 P.M.XAT 2014 Exam Pattern.

XAT 2014 exam pattern
XAT 2014 will again have two separate sections on General Knowledge and essay writing although the marks of these sections will not be used for determining the percentile and cut off at the first stage of selection. But the same are used byXLRIand some other Associate Member institutes at the time of final selection.

As far as theadmissions in XLRIare concerned, candidates may apply for more than one program in the institute. Those who apply for multiple programs may be called for multiple interviews and/or group discussions.
The selection criteria for different programs may differ depending on the nature of the program.
