JBIMS Mumbai gets up to the mark summer placements

The Summer Placement season at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies- JBIMS Mumbai secured 100% placements in record time with its students garnering a comprehensive set of profiles across the entire industrial spectrum. The placement session witnessed a multitude of revered companies offering an array of coveted profiles across a plethora of sectors.

Despite the challenges posed by the economic slowdown, the recruiters attributed paramount importance to the ingenuity and dexterity of the students by hiring in numbers and offering profiles along the breadth and depth of various business domains that span across industries.

In the batch strength of 116 students, the maximum, 32% of students were recruited in the BFSI sector by the companies such as Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, J P Morgan Chase, ICICI Bank, Nomura, CRISIL, Development Credit Bank, HDFC Property Ventures, ICICI Prudential AMC, Metlife, Tata Capital, CIMB Securities, Finstream etc. FMCG majors such as Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, ITC, Dabur, HCCB, General Mills recruited a total of 23% students. Around 19% of students were recruited by the companies related to manufacturing, conglomerates & real estate like Mahindra & Mahindra, Raymond, Larsen and Toubro, Godrej and Boyce and 10% students were recruited by Consulting and IT majors.

The highest stipend offered during the placement session was Rs. 2, 00,000 with the average being Rs. 97,000.

Prof. Balkrishna Parab, the placement co-ordinator at JBIMS, said that This year our focus was on making more diverse opportunities available to our students so that the multitude of interests of the students is adequately catered to. A great response from the industry as well as the high level of preparedness of the students has helped us in achieving this goal and delivering another hugely successful summer placement season. He also said that, Following the hugely productive summer placement process for the 2015 batch, JBIMS Mumbai is all geared up to consolidate this success with a strong executive placement season for the batch of 2014.

Founded in 1965, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies JBIMS Mumbai is the third oldest management institute in India. JBIMS was established by the University of Mumbai in collaboration with the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. The flagship MMS (Master of Management Studies) program was conceived under the aegis of Mumbai University. Besides that, it offers various management courses for executives.
