IFIM Business School holds Convergence 2014

IFIM Business School organized 6th International Conference on the theme Ethical Leadership: The Indian Way on January 9 & 10 at IFIM Bangalore campus which was attended by the delegates from 10 different countries.

The two day conference was inaugurated by the CEO of Tanishq and Chief Ethics Counselor Mr CK Venkatraman. The inaugural ceremony was also graced by other eminent people from the academia and corporate including Dr. Luk Bouckaert, President European SPES-Forum Belgium, Mr. Prakash Sethi, Professor, City University of New York and Yale University Baruch College, CUNY, New York, Mr. Raghunathan, CEO, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and others.

During the inaugural session, Mr CK Venkatraman delivered a enlightening address where he spoke about the various initiatives that his company has undertaken for the betterment of peoples lives. Dr Luk Bouckaert talked about the shift to business spirituality and the rising interest in spirituality seeping into the workplace to address issues.
There were three panel discussions in which 70 research papers were presented by the different scholars and academicians. Research papers were presented in 4 tracks namely, Leadership, Ethics, Ethics & Sustainability and Entrepreneurship.

Panel Discussion 1 was based on the topic Spirituality and Leadership in which panelists spoke about the importance of a spiritual element for a leader and how spirituality plays a key role in shaping their decisions. Panel Discussion 2 was based on Sustainability in which panelists discussed about how business models need to have sustainability as a key focus while Panel Discussion 3 was based on Ethics and Media. This panel focused on how media/ journalism maintain ethics in their work. The speakers discussed about ethics in traditional media and also the challenges that they face in todays digital world.

IFIM Business School, Bangalore was founded in 1995 and its first batch students graduated in 1997. It offers PGDM, PGDM Finance, PGDM IB, PGDM for working professionals and E PGDM for Entrepreneurs. IFIM has been ranked overall as No: 45 in India in MBAUniverse.com B School ranking 2013-14.
