London Business School now in Dubai

The Dean of London Business School (LBS), Laura Tyson, recently announced that LBS plans to kickstart operations in Dubai.
There will be a Dubai-London Executive MBA program and its the first time that LBS has set up its own branded program overseas. On offer also, will be the Executive Education program. The courses will be run from the Dubai International Financial Centre.
The programs are a response to a growing demand for world-class business education in the area, and is indicative of the Schools commitment to the region, said Professor Tyson. The official press statement adds that Dubais location as a hub to the Middle East, India and Africa also complements the Schools existing international programs, including the five-year-old, dual-degree EMBA-Global program, run with Columbia Business School in New York, and a partnership with Hong Kong University.
The new 16-month, dual campus EMBA program will be taught by LBS faculty and will to lead to an LBS MBA degree being awarded. The program will consist of core classes in Dubai for the first half of the program, with electives in the second part of the program at LBSs Regents Park campus. The School is currently recruiting its first batch; the classes in first half of 2007.
Studying between the two cities is expected to be a big draw for students. LBSs Deputy Dean of Programs, Professor Zeger Degraeve, said that, studying in both locations will help the students develop a global professional network that will empower them in all stages of their careers.
