IIM Tiruchirappalli launches new PG programme at Chennai Centre

Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli IIM Trichy announces new Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management while it will continue with the 3-year Post Graduate Programme in Business Management for working executives at its Chennai Centre.
The new programme is specially designed for those working in and aspiring to be human resource management specialists. The PGP-HRM for working executives will commence from July 2014 at IIM Trichys Chennai Centre. This programme would be in addition to the PGP-BM for working executives that IIM Trichy has been offering at its Chennai Centre for the last two years.
PGPHRM is envisaged as a complete management programme for those who want to create a niche for themselves in a career in HR. The curriculum includes a broad range of general management courses, core conceptual and application based HR courses, HR electives and a live industry project. Students have the option of specializing in one of the five HR sub-specializations-viz., employee relations, organization development and change, HR analytics, employee engagement and global HR and diversity. According to IIM Trichy Industry HR managers and leaders will contribute to the delivery of the programme in a significant way along with competent internal faculty. Classes will be held in the evenings for four days a week.
Apart from the above programme, the 3rd batch of PGPBM will also commence from July 2014. PGPBM addresses the need of the working executives to attain quality formal management education, even as they work. By aligning this programme with the full-time 2-year Post Graduate Programme, offered at Trichy campus, in terms of content and delivery, and structuring the programme over four evenings a week, PGPBM offers a near full-time experience of going-back-to-school to the participants.
ADMISSIONS PROCESS
The last date for receipt of applications for both the programmes is May 5, 2014. Final selection will be made based on the basis of applicants curriculum vitae, performance in the written test, and personal interview. Applicants with a valid CAT or GMAT score are exempted from the written test.
