Be wholly experimental and entrepreneurial says Kamal Bali, MD Volvo India on XIMB foundation day

Chief Guest on the occasion of 14th Foundation day celebration of Xavier University, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar (XUB,XIMB), Shri Kamal Bali, Board Member and Managing Director, Volvo India Private Limited (VIPL) inspired the students asking them to fully utilize their talents.

The 14th Foundation Day Lecture of Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) was held on November 4, 2016 in XIMB Auditorium. The event highlighted 29 years of successful collaboration between the Odisha State Government and the Jesuit Society. In the past business leaders like Ms. Vinita Bali, Mr. D. Shivakumar, Mr. Madhur Bajaj, Ms. Lalita Gupte, Mr. Ashok Soota, Dr. Preetha Reddy and Dr. B. Muthuraman have delivered lectures on the Foundation Day and have moulded many young managers. They have not only shared their journey but have thrown light on what it takes to be a successful leader and an ethical corporate citizen. This year the lecture was delivered by Shri Kamal Bali, Board Member and Managing Director, Volvo India Private Limited (VIPL).

Mr. Bali shared his experiences and added that Change is the only constant in life, and our success lies in understanding and staying ahead of the change. He further motivated the students by saying that There is no shortcut to success and urged them to take risks by advising them to Go out there and be wholly experimental and entrepreneurial, be creative and take calculated risks-because, only with the full utilization of your talents, can the country and the world become a better place.
An inspiration to all, Kamal Bali, an engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee and an alumnus of St. Josephs Academy Dehradun joined the Volvo Group in India as a Board Member and Managing Director in April 2014. Prior to this, he was working as the President & CEO of Singapore Technologies Kinetics in Bangalore, establishing brand LeeBoy in India.

The thoughts he shared were applauded and quite appreciated by the audience. The audience also got the opportunity to interact with him through a question and answer session.

The event was presided over by Mr. Rajeev Kaul, Chairman of Board of Governors, Xavier University, XIMB and Fr. Paul Fernandes, S.J., Vice Chancellor, Xavier University and Director, XIMB. The Chairman in his address set the tone for the talk and interactive session. All the management students, the faculty and staff of XIMB and a galaxy of invited guests attended the function.
