The morning session of CAT 2016, which began at 9AM today on December 4, got over a few minutes back. According to experts, in Verbal was tough, DI was easier, and Quant was deceptive in the morning session of CAT 2016. There were changes in exam pattern and marking. Instead of 3 marks per question only 1 mark was allocated. This changed has happened after 2009.

VARC
- Today Questions in VARC: 34 (24 on MCQ and 10 on Non MCQ)
- Difficulty Level of VARC Section: Tougher than last year; RC was easier, Verbal was tougher

- Purpose of Passage was reintroduced this year.
- Critical reasoning type of Qs removed in RC.
- Verbal has all 10 Qs in Non MCQ format
DILR
- Total Questions in DILR Questions: 32
- Difficulty Level of DILR Section: Easier than last year

- 8 Qs on Non MCQ
- Rest 24 MCQs
- All Qs in Sets of 4 Qs each
Quantitative
- Total Questions in Quantitative: 34
- Difficulty Level of DILR Section: First few Qs were difficult, then rest were on easier lines
Highlights:
- More Arithmetic based Qs on %, Profit & Loss, Time & Speed etc
- No of Non MCQs reduced from 10 to 7
