Score Weightage Calculation in Shortlisting Process
Unlike its previous shortlisting process, FMS has started using composite score in shortlisting process for GD-PI round. Although the maximum composite score awards100% weight to CAT 2018 score, the candidate is shortlisted on the basis of differential weightage to sectional percentile scores in CAT 2018. For example: Composite Score = ∑(Score in Section * Weightage)/Max Marks for the Section.

The process of calculation of composite score can get a candidate shortlisted despite scoring low in Quant but high in VARC and overall low viz. a candidate who scores low in VARC but high in Quant and overall high percentile in CAT exam. The sectional weightage awarded to CAT 2018 score in arriving at composite score in shortlisting by FMS are as under:

CAT 2018 Exam Section
Score Weightage
Quantitative Ability (QA)
 30%
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
 30%
Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning (VARC)
 40%
Total
100%

An additional 3 marks have been added to the Composite score so computed in case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting. However, the composite scores are used only for shortlisting the candidates for GD-PI Process.
