IIM Indore PGP Batch 2024-26 Profile

IIM Indore has welcomed the new batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM), Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM), and Integrated Programme in Management – Fourth Year (IPM-4th Year) on June 27, 2024.

While most IIMs are focussed on increasing the gender diversity of their management programs, IIM Indore stands out as an anomaly. The female students stood at less than 30% of the total students admitted to the flagship PGP program of IIM Indore. Another noticeable trend seen was a marginal dip in number of candidates admitted to the PGP-HRM program this year.

IIM Indore Batch 2024-26 Profile Highlights 
While the IIM Indore’s new PGPHRM programme batch shines with an impressive 94% female representation, the number of female candidates in the flagship IIM Indore PGP Batch 2024-26 are significantly lower. Of the 482 total students admitted to the IIM Indore PGP Batch 2024-26, female students stood at just 27.6%. However, non-engineers make up 46.86% of the entire cohort. More details follow.

  • Male Students: 72.41%
  • Female Students: 27.59%

Last year, the total number of students admitted for PGP 2022-24 batch were 487.

IIM Indore PGP-HRM Batch 2024-26 Profile  

  • Total Students Admitted: 33
  • Male Students: 6.06%
  • Female Students: 93.94%

It is noteworthy here that last year the total number of students admitted for PGP-HRM 2022-24 batch were 39. This implies a fall of about 15% from last year’s admission number, although the base is low.

Maharashtra Excels
Maharashtra excels with the highest overall participation at IIM Indore, contributing 86 students, including the largest group in the PGP with 71 participants. Uttar Pradesh also stands out with the most participants in the IPM and PGPHRM, numbering 12 and 6, respectively. Madhya Pradesh also shows strong representation in the new batch with 53 participants. Information about student participation from southern states was not available.

Realize your true potential: Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore
In his inaugural address, Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore urged the new batch to realize their true potential. “In your journey, understanding your swadharma is paramount. Recognize that fulfilling your own destiny is your primary obligation. Identify your true potential—your swadharma—and aim to achieve it”, he said. He cautioned against prioritizing material gains like money over personal fulfillment and encouraged distinguishing between genuine needs and superficial desires. Be open to learning, practice active compassion, ensure that you communicate clearly, maintain courage in uncertainty, cultivate resilience to persevere through challenges, and never give up, he said. He emphasized that these qualities are essential for a fulfilling and purposeful life journey.

Prof. Sayantan Banerjee, Chair – PGP, IIM Indore emphasized that IIM Indore is more than just another educational institution. He encouraged the students to leave a legacy of positive change, stating that the transformation begins with each of us. The induction programme concluded with briefings on computing facilities, library, infrastructure, and other significant initiatives, facilities, and services on campus beneficial for the new batch.

Established in 1996, IIM Indore is the sixth in the family of 21 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). IIM Indore is one of the very few ‘Triple Crown’ B-schools in India with International accreditation from AACSB International, EQUIS and AMBA.
