SDMIMD Mysore is celebrating its 24th Annual Convocation on March 30, 2019 at its campus with Mr Kamal.Bali, President & CEO of Volvo Group as the chief guest on the occasion. Padma Vibhushan Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Chairman SDMIMD will preside over the function. 145 eligible candidates will receive their certificates at the Convocation. The 2017-19 batch is the first one to have completed the program having spent both the years after PGDM at SDMIMD was awarded double accreditation for the program.
On completion of the two-year learning process, the students of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) of Batch 2017-19 will be receiving the degree during the 24th Annual Convocation. On this dream day Shri Kamal Bali, Managing Director of Volvo India, Volvo Buses India Private Limited, will deliver the key note address. Mr Kamal Bali is the Managing Director and a Board member of Volvo India since 2014. Prior to spearheading the Volvo Group in India, he had served as the President & CEO of Singapore Technologies (STK) in India, establishing the brand LeeBoy. He had served as CEO and MD of Escorts Construction Equipment since January 2007. He was CEO and MD of Same Deutz-Fahr India. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, predominantly in the automotive industry, Mr Bali has worked for well-known Indian brands and stablished multinational corporations in India. He has had an insightful experience in the functional areas of sales, marketing and supply chain, before taking over P&L responsibilities in the year 2002.
Mr Bali is a thought leader and an active speaker at various national and international forums. He is Chairman of Swedish Chamber of Commerce India (SCCI); Chairman of CII Karnataka (2017-18); Industry Advisory Executive Panel (IAEP) member of CIMA, London; Member of Karnataka Government Vision Group (Industry); Board Member of Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), Bhubaneswar among others. An engineering graduate from the IIT and an alumnus of St. Joseph’s Academy Dehradun, Mr Bali began his professional career as a management trainee with the Eicher Group in 1981.
