Curriculum Highlights

The duration of the IIM Rohtak Post Graduate Programme in Management is two years. Each academic year consists of 3 Terms. Rural Engagement Program (REP) is a mandatory program that takes place immediately after the Term-I exams. The students go for summer internships at the end of the third Term for a period of about 2 months. Passing the Communication Workshop Courses in PGP 1st year is compulsory. The course curriculum is continually reviewed and updated to cater to the requirements of the industry and reflect changes in the environment.

The first-year courses are aimed at building the foundation of the program. Hence, all students are required to complete all the first-year courses. In the second year of the program, students register for elective courses which are Economics and Public Policy, Finance and Accounting, Management Information Systems, Operation, OB & Human Resource Management, and Marketing & Strategy. IIM-R Faculty, as well as professionals from industry and academia conduct these courses. The students should also take one simulation-based compulsory course during Term IV, V and VI respectively, namely, Global Business Simulation (GBS); Markstrat Simulation (MSS); Capstone Simulation (CS)

Each Course in the PGP program is structured around the concept of credits. Each credit represents 25 hours of contact sessions. The 25 hours of instruction will normally require another 75 hours of preparation on student’s own at the minimum. As such, at least 100 hours need to be devoted to 1 credit course. Instructors choose from multiple pedagogical tools including lecture discussions, case methods, behavioural and computer-based simulations, projects, class presentations, and various forms of technology-based learning such as multi-media, case analysis, video conferencing, and e-learning, to facilitate effective learning in their courses.
