How to use NMAT Percentile Predictor? Step by Step Guide
GMAC is conducting NMAT exam 2024 from November 5 to December 20, 2024 as an online computer based test with many changes. Read below in detail What is NMAT percentile predictor, whether it is in use, how to use it to get nearest NMAT score in 5 minutes.
In the column, ‘All You Need to Know About the NMAT Result’ Shannon Cook of GMAC, wrote about NMAT percentile on May 12, 2023, “All the candidates will receive an NMAT percentile score that outlines how each score compares to the number of NMAT takers in the given year. So, if you receive a percentile score of 95, you have performed better than 95% of other candidates taking the exam in the same year. You would be in the top 5% of candidates in this instance.”
1.1 Difference between NMAT Percentile, Raw Score and Scaled Score
NMAT Raw Score: The actual raw score in NMAT is based on your correct number of answers as per the NMAT marking scheme of +1 Mark for correct answer and 0 mark for wrong answer. NMAT Scaled Score: The Raw score of NMAT is converted to scaled score by GMAC after considering various parameters like Number of test takers, Ability of the candidate to answer different difficulty level questions.
NMAT Percentile Score & Predictions: The NMAT percentile is about how well you performed in the NMAT exam as compared to your peers. If a candidate scores raw score of 75 out of 108 and the score is scaled to 250, and may be equal to 90+ percentile. It implies that the candidate has performed better than 90% NMAT exam takers. However, in case the 250 scaled score is highest score which any candidate has scored, the NMAT percentile turns out to be 100%. It will imply that the candidate has performed best among all the test takers.
For NMAT 2024, GMAC will calculate scaled score from raw score instead of percentile score. As such, while NMAT score converted to scaled score is provided within 48 hours of taking the exam, GMAC has discontinued awarding NMAT percentile based on NMAT score. NMAT by GMAC will not display percentile score in the NMAT score card. Now it shares scaled score based on the marks obtained in the exam and gives you an opportunity to arrive at your nearest NMAT exam score. To know your NMAT score & percentile and the process how to arrive at the accurate NMAT score equivalent to percentile in other exams, you should be aware about the key factors to calculate and predict your NMAT by GMAC score 2024 after taking NMAT exam on different dates and exam slots booked by you in advance.
Your NMAT Scaled score depends upon the total number of candidates who have taken the NMAT exam, highest to lowest score, difficulty level overall as well as section wise and the maximum and minimum scores obtained in different testing windows.
For the NMAT 2024 exam, GMAC has revised the scoring pattern. According to GMAC, “The NMAT score card will be reported with a scaled NMAT score for each section of the exam and a total result.” The overall and sectional scoring pattern for NMAT 2024 is as below:
