Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta

IIM Calcutta is led by its Director In Charge Prof. Sahadeb Sarkar a Professor in the Operations Management Group of the Institute. He has been appointed as Director-in- Charge in accordance with the provisions of the IIM Act 2017. Prof Sahadeb Sarkar has a Ph. D. in Statistics from Iowa State University, USA. He joined the Operations Management Group of IIM Calcutta in 1997. Before joining IIM Calcutta he was an Associate Professor with tenure at Oklahoma State University, USA. He has also served as a visiting Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA.

IIM Calcutta has more than 80 core full time renowned faculty members. Apart from core full time faculty, IIM Calcutta has visiting faculty from academia, corporate and industry.

Past and present faculty at IIM Calcutta include many prominent scholars such as management educationist Ravi J Matthai, economists Paul Samulelson, Ashok Mitra, Yoginder K Alagh, Deepak Nayyar and statisticians like Warren Bennis, Jagdish Sheth, Rahul Mukerjee; Anthropologist Surajit Chandra Sinha and Historians like Barun De, Rajat Kanta Ray among others.
