The main campus of IIM Calcutta, covering 135 acres, is located in Joka, on the outskirts of Kolkata. The institute moved to its present campus in 1975. In December 2019, the institute sent a request to the state government seeking land to build another campus in New Town Kolkata. IIMC's main Academic Block has four large lecture halls and several additional classrooms. Two new Academic blocks were opened in 2010 and 2011 to supplement the main block.
The fully Air-conditioned Auditorium at IIM Calcutta, popularly called the Audi, has seating capacity of 750 people and is equipped with ultra-modern equipment including professional audio and visual systems. The library, named as BC Roy Memorial Library, houses over 160,000 volumes and also subscribes to hundreds of management journals and provides access to a large collection of electronic databases. The library processes and functions are fully computerized and in addition to print material, it provides access to more than 40,000 online full-text journals. IIMC Campus also has an amphitheatre, computer laboratories, incubation areas, faculty offices, and syndicate rooms on five levels.
IIM-C has 4 main hostels for students pursuing its PGDM, PGDCM and Fellow programmes. Students with families are provided with separate family accommodation. IIMC has a guest house known as Tata Hall with number of rooms.
IIMC New Campus has two large "houses" each accommodating 175 students in private rooms with attached balconies. An Executive Centre with 200 suites and rooms, having training and syndicate rooms and well fitted executive dining and recreation areas. This new residential campus is connected to the existing campus via a steel bridge.
IIM Calcutta has established various Centres of excellence at its campus for experience learning and research. Some of them are Centre for Corporate Governance (CCG) to create and disseminate knowledge in the area of corporate governance; Financial Research and Trading Lab (FRTL) to undertake research on financial markets; Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) is dedicated to the creation, collation, and dissemination of knowledge on entrepreneurship and innovation; Case Research Centre (IIMCCRC) is set up as a repository of teaching; Centre for Development and Environment Policy (CDEP)
