School of Human Settlements offers the MBA-UMG, a 2-year, full-time residential Program to prepare professionals with the knowledge and skills to develop and run sustainable and adaptive cities and city systems. It brings together the relevant knowledge, techniques and tools from the fields of Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Policy and Governance. The curriculum is designed to meet the specific management expertise required by agencies involved in the financing, development and management of cities, towns and rapidly urbanizing peripheries.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates with a three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized University can apply with a valid Admission Test score as given below. Or;
- Candidates who have secured the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in their Bachelor’s degree program (in a recognized Institute/ College/ University) can apply. Final-year degree students who expect such positions in their final examinations can also apply. (Such candidates do not require Admission Test scores mentioned below). All such applicants must submit a Certificate from the Head of the Institution stating their position, when asked for. Or;
- Candidates from any discipline and with keen interest in urban sector, and with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in their Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) program are also encouraged to apply, even without a valid Admission Test score.
Final year degree students (for all criteria mentioned in this section), who expect to complete their final examinations and other requirements for obtaining the degree by June 15, 2024, can also apply. All shortlisted candidates (for all criteria mentioned in this section) will have to appear for a Writing Ability Test and/or Personal Interview.

Admission Process:
The Institute will decide the section-wise as well as total cut-off marks which will be used for short-listing the candidates to be called for Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate's performance in the CAT/XAT/GMAT/NMAT/X-GMT/GATE/CEED/NATA as well as in the WAT, GD & PI (which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience).
Candidates who have secured the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position (i.e., any of the top three ranks, at the College / Institute / University) in their undergraduate program can apply, without a CAT/XAT/GMAT/NMAT/X-GMT/GATE/CEED/NATA score. Such applicants must submit a certificate from the Head of the Institution to that effect when asked for. They will, however, be required to attend the Personal Interview, if called.
