CAT Result declaration trends
As announced by IIM Lucknow, the CAT exam convener this year, the CAT Results 2018 are to be declared in the second week of January 2018. However, going by the past trends of CAT result declaration and the CAT exam date during last three years, it is expected that CAT Result 2018 can be out on January 7.

Since CAT was conducted a few days earlier than last years, for admission to MBA 2018-20 batch in IIMs, it is anticipated that the CAT results 2018 would also be declared at least one or two days before the earlier CAT result dates. Accordingly, it will not be a surprise, if CAT result 2018 is declared by the end of 1st week of January 2018, on Jan 5 or 6, 2018 instead of second week of January.

How to access and download CAT Result 2018
Immediately, after official declaration of CAT Result 2018, the first access point to your CAT Result 2018 and CAT percentile overall is the communication from IIM Lucknow to you. The steps to have access to your CAT Result 2018 are:

Step-1: Immediately after declaration of CAT Result 2018, you will get the following message from HP-IIMCAT, Dear Candidate, Your percentile for CAT 2017 for application number xxxxxx is xxxx. This should prompt you to immediately go to the CAT website to login and begin the CAT result 2018 score card download process
Step-2: Login with registered CAT id and password as existing user on Download Score Card on CAT official iimcat website
Step-3: You can view and download your CAT score card now. After downloading it, it is suggested to take print of the CAT Result 2018 as it contains your scaled and percentile scores.
Match your CAT Result with your expectations: Check options

You may get a higher or lower percentile in CAT exam when the CAT result 2018 is out. However, in both cases you need not worry and should check the available options in best MBA colleges accepting CAT score in the percentile range that you have secured.
If your CAT Result 2018 exceeds expectation
You might be thinking after going through the CAT answer keys published by IIMs immediately after CAT exam that you could not perform well in the exam as you expected.
