Poised to increase intake for PGP 2018-20 programme, IIM Indore shortlist 2018 has been announced today on January 15. IIM Indore has shortlisted more than 1400 candidates for PI-WAT round which is to begin in the month of February.
The revamped IIM Indore shortlisting criteria for admission to PGP, PGP-HRM 2018-20 batch have awarded low weithtage to CAT 2017 percentile score. Accordingly, IIM Indore cut off in shortlisting of candidates for final admission round remains near 90 percentile in CAT 2017. With the introduction of PGP-HRM programme, IIM Indore is to increase its intake to 560 seats this year.
CAT 2017 exam result was declared on January 8, 2018. IIM Indore is among the first five IIMs who have so far announced their shortlists for final admission round.

How to Check your status in IIM Indore Shortlist
To check the status whether you are included in the IIM Indore shortlist, you need to take following steps:
Go to IIM Indore website
Select PGP Admission 2018-20 in the Academic Programmes
Click on Shortlist for WAT & PI batch 2018-20
Enter your CAT 2017 Registration ID, Mail Id and security code in the given window:
Please note that only if you are shortlisted you will get the congratulation message
If you are not shortlisted you will not be given any message and the security code will go on changing
Even if you have score 99+ percentile in CAT 2017 but the sectional percentile in one of the three sections is below 80, you will not find your name in the IIM Indore shortlist 2018.
IIM Indore Shortlisting Criteria
CAT 2017 scores have not played major role in IIM Indore shortlisting process for PGP and PGP-HRM 2018-20 batch as the candidates with excellent academics have been preferred and included in IIM-I Shortlist 2018.
This fact was also confirmed by IIM Indore while announcing its admission policy 2018-20. Announcing its CAT 2017 cut offs at 90 percentile in CAT exam, IIM Indore shortlisting criteria for flagship PGP 2018-20 have awarded only 20% weightage to CAT 2017 scores and 76% to academics and rest 4% to gender diversity in shortlisting for PI-WAT stage.
IIM Indore has again become a front runner in announcing its shortlisting criteria that will attract more candidates with excellent academic profile below graduation than only considering the CAT 2017 scores.
IIM Indore Cut offs
IIM Indore has shortlisted the candidates for next round of admission process comprising Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal Interview (PI) on the basis of scores obtained in CAT 2017 and other parameters.
IIM Indore cut off, applied in the shortlisting criteria for 2018-20 batch is 90 percentile in CAT 2017. The actual cut off could go beyond 92 depending upon your academic profile in final admission process.
Those who have not scored a high balanced and qualifying percentile in all the 3 sections in CAT 2017 have not been shortlisted by IIM Indore. IIM Indore is the dream B school for MBA aspirants and one of the major USPs is that despite having high placement trends, the admission opportunity in IIM Indore is available with moderate CAT 2017 percentile cut off.
IIM Indore has revised its shortlisting criteria. The prescribed minimum CAT 2017 cut off percentile overall as well as sectional shared below indicates the threshold limit below which IIM Indore has not shortlisted the candidates for admission to its flagship PGP Programme 2018-20.
Many candidates who have score 99+ percentile in CAT 2017 but have percentile score below 80 in one of the three sections have not found place in IIM Indore shortlist.

76% weight awarded to class 10 & 12 marks
Class 10 marks have been awarded 36% weight while class 12 marks have been awarded 40% weight in IIM Indore Shortlisting criteria. However, no weightage has been awarded for bachelors degree marks.
Candidates have been shortlisted for WAT & PI stage on the basis of composite scores which are arrived at by accounting for the academic profile also.The Composite Score therefore is calculated by IIM Indore on the basis of CAT 2017 score, academic scores, and gender diversity.

There is not any weightage to the academic scores beyond class 12. Candidates scoring percentage of marks above 85 have been given good weightage in the computation of composite scores.
20% weight awarded to CAT 2017 percentile
Following weightage to your CAT 2017 scores has been awarded in IIM Indore shortlist in the computation of composite score:

4% weight to Women applicants
IIM Indore shortlisting criteria have awarded a weightage of 4% to female candidates only to ensure gender diversity while shortlisting the candidates for PI stage. No weightage to male or transgender candidates has been awarded.

= 4 for Female Applicants
= 0 for Other Applicants
How to calculate your composite score
Composite Score = Sum of the above scores (Max 100) is the formula to arrive at the maximum score to check whether you should have been shortlisted by IIM Indore. Please note that Zcandidate, Zmin, Zmax for 10th and 12th Standard are computed using the normalisation process.
Please also note that after declaration of shortlist, IIM Indore does not propose to send any individual regret letter to applicants who are not shortlisted for WAT and PI.

Class X & XII get highest weight among IIMs
No other IIM including IIM Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Lucknow has awarded such a high weightage of 76% for academics upto class 12 as done by IIM Indore in its shortlisting criteria for PGP 2018-20. With a view to increase academic excellence in its class rooms, IIM Indore has taken this step to award higher weightage to excellent academic profile than to CAT 2017 scores.
Admission opportunity in IIM Indore PGP-HRM
Apart from the flagship PGP programme, IIM Indore has announced to commence the PGP-HRM programme in 2018. The candidates shortlisted by IIM Indore will also get the opportunity of admission to the first batch of PGP-HRM 2018-20.
Intake increased to 560 seats
So far IIM Indore used to offer admission to around 530 CAT exam takers, at its Indore and Mumbai campuses. A good number of 452-455 candidates used to be offered admission at IIM Indore at its Indore campus, 75 students used to get admission opportunity at IIM Indore-Mumbai campus.
Now, with new PGP-HRM programme added from the academic year 2018, IIM Indore will offer admission to 30 more candidates to its PGP-HRM programme, increasing the total strength to 560.
Apart from flagship 2 years full time Post Graduate Programme in Management(PGP) at its Indore and Mumbai campus and 2 years full time PGP-HRM programme beginning in 2018, IIM Indore offers - Fellow Programme in Management (FPM); FPM Industry; Executive PGP(EPGP); EPGP-E-Governance; 5 year integrated programme in Management. A few other MDP and certificate programmes are also conducted by IIM Indore.
IIM Indore will begin its PI-WAT round in the month of February and will conduct the admission interviews in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
