JBIMS 2018 Admission through DTE CAP
There is no move by JBIMS to announce and conduct its own admission process. The admission process will be through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2018 to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra in the month of May/June 2018. A separate notification inviting candidates to participate in CAP 2018 will be released by DTE Maharashtra in the middle of May 2018.
JBIMS has been taking different stands on its admission policy in each academic session. It conducted its own admission process in 2015 but in 2016 JBIMS offered admission through DTE CAP 2016. Then again in 2017, it announced its own admission process but later took a U-turn and came back to participate in CAP 2017. The seat allotment to JBIMS was done through DTE conducted Centralized Admission Process.
Following have been the key shifts in JBIMS admission criteria:

So far JBIMS has not announced any change in its admission process for academic session 2018-19 an will offer admission through DTE CAP round. However, even if there is any change at the last moment, it will accept MAHCET 2018, CAT 2018 scores although DTE has announced that CMAT 2018 scores will be accepted for admission in all the Maharashtra B-schools participating in CAP 2018 for All India category candidates.
Admission Open: How to apply in JBIMS?
Candidates who have appeared in CAT 2017 and have got high score but could not be shortlisted by IIMs due to one or other factor, still have the opportunity to explore admission in JBIMS Mumbai. Apply to participate in DTE CAP 2018

Please note DTE Maharashtra allows very limited time to submit the application for participation in CAP. So, you have to apply immediately when the Notification for CAP 2018 is released by DTE Maharashtra.
No separate application needed for JBIMS
Since DTE Maharashtra will conduct Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2018 for admission to all the 400+ participating MBA colleges including JBIMS Mumbai and will make seat allotment in the MBA colleges as per the merit score obtained by the candidates, there is no need to apply separately in JBIMS for admission.
JBIMS to accept only CAT, CMAT & MAH-CET scores
For admission 2018, JBIMS Mumbai will accept score of CAT 2017, CMAT 2018 and MAH CET 2018 exams. In fact when JBIMS participates in DTE-CAP round, the exam scores accepted by this B-school are more but when it conducts its own admission process it accepts only two exams MAHCET and CAT.
But for admission 2018, it appears that AICTE has asked all the Maharashtra B-schools participating in CAP round to accept CMAT scores for the All India category candidates. DTE Maharashtra has also issued a notification to this effect. Now, JBIMS alongwith other Maharashtra MBA colleges will accept CMAT 2018 score. JBIMS fee: Rs.6 lakhs
JBIMS has increased its fee by 300% for MMS course since last year. After being awarded the autonomous status, the JBIMS fee has gone up to Rs.6 lakhs from Rs.2.04 lakhs. It appears that the JBIMS fee despite being regulated by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti (SSS) of Government of Maharashtra has got a special status to determine its own fee.
JBIMS Mumbai has remained the most preferred campus for MBA aspirants due to its legacy, high industry connect, good placements and low fee structure and was considered moving much on the lines as FMS Delhi of Delhi University is doing.
However, now the JBIMS fee structure matches the fee of many private MBA/PGDM colleges who are not getting any aid and grants from the Government.

From the year 2017-18 onwards, the revised fees will be INR 3 Lakhs p.a for General Students.
Fee for NRI/PIO: Rs.12 lakhs
Apart from the domestic general category candidates JBIMS has increased the fee for NRI/PIO candidates as well and has informed For NRI/FN and PIO students will be charged twice the amount of fee for General Students i.e. INR 6 lakhs p.a. It means the 2 years MMS programme fee for the NRI/FN and PIO students will stand increased to Rs. 12 lakhs.
In terms of percentage hike in fee structure, JBIMS has left behind the IIMs who have resorted to 10 to 20% fee hike periodically. The 300% fee hike at JBIMS is the only example of steep fee increase in MBA/MMS/PGDM programmes in any B-school in India.
15% seats Reserved for All India candidates
JBIMS has a total intake of 120 seats in the flagship MMS programme. Out of this intake 15% seats are allotted to All India category candidates.
Accordingly, there are 18 seats for the All India category candidates for admission to MMS 2018-20 at JBIMS. Their merit list and cut offs will be separately prepared by DTE Maharashtra after the CAP 2018 is over.
