MAT 2018 Analysis: May Exam over with lengthy LR; Difficulty Level remains moderate; 17000 take PBT MAT

MAT 2018 exam as Paper based Test has got over at 12.30PM today, few minutes ago. There were 200 questions divided in 5 sections of moderate difficulty level in PBT MAT exam held today on May 6 from 10AM to 12.30PM. More than 300 MBA colleges in India will offer admission on the basis of May MAT 2018.

MAT 2018 May exam in paper based format is over. The exam was conducted today on May 6, 2018 from 10AM to 12.30PM in 51 test cities across the country as paper based test for MBA admission in 300 MBA colleges in India. Around 17000 candidates are believed to have appeared in paper based AIMA MAT conducted in a single session exam held today.
The PBT MAT had 200 questions divided in 5 sections of moderate difficulty level although few questions were reported difficult and lengthy by the test takers. MAT 2018, being a paper based test, the exam did not face any technical glitches at any centre. However, candidates have reported shortage of time in MAT as there were 200 questions to be solved in 150 minutes.

Based on the feedback from the candidates who appeared in MAT exam today, the May MAT 2018 paper based test can be rated moderate overall and almost at the same level as was the last MAT exam in February. Students have found the Reasoning in MAT 2018 a bit lengthy but it was not found to be a difficult test.

It is anticipated that the cut off at some of the top MBA colleges accepting MAT would also not go very high as the exam was not altogether very easy also. MAT 2018 was a single session exam without any change in sectional composition of questions.

  • Sectional Time Limit: No, any question from any section could be attempted within overall time limit
  • MAT Test Submission: Candidates were allowed to submit their test before the end of test but were not allowed to leave the testing hall.

MAT 2018 scoring pattern
MAT score card will contain 6 scores. For each of the 6 scores, a percentile score is given. This shows the percentage of examinees who scored below the candidate based on the entire MAT testing population. The percentile below figure can change with each administration for the same scores.
MAT 2018 May exam would award scores keeping the Indian and Global environment section out from percentile calculation.
The scores are to be awarded out of 160 marks and accordingly the test takers will get their merit position where their scores are sent by AIMA.
Raw score of 70+ is expected to award the percentile of 80+ and the raw score of 100 marks can award you the percentile of 94.
