CAT 2015 Result: Expect delay as past activities reveal; no date announcement till now

Despite the commitment to declare the CAT 2015 result in the second week of January 2016, it has not been possible for the IIM Ahmedabad the CAT 2015 convening IIM to announce the exact date of the result. Now it appears that the CAT 2015 result may not be declared in the 2nd week of January 2016 in absence of any date available on CAT 2015 site.

History of delay in various activities in conduct of CAT 2015 exam also adds fuel to the fire of dilemma persisting among the aspirants that the CAT 2015 result may be delayed by a few days and may be declared by the end of second week or in the beginning of 3rd week of January 2016.

The following delayed activities in conduct of CAT 2015 exam may bring home the fact why the aspirants are expecting a delay in CAT 2015 result declaration

Registration extended by 5 days CAT 2015 takers might remember that the registration window for CAT 2015 was extended by 5 days from September 20 to September 25, 2015 making a final tally of registered candidates for CAT 2015 to 2.18 lakhs.

Admit Card delayed by 10 days CAT 2015 Admit card which was supposed to be out on October 15 got delayed and was out on October 25, 2015 marking a delay of 10 days. Candidates were worried as CAT Centre 2015 had not provided such facility as to know beforehand which one out of 4 preferred test cities was allotted to take CAT 2015 on November 29, 2015, nor did it have any means to know whether the candidate was allotted the morning or afternoon session on the testing day.

This created a bit of anxiety among the CAT 2015 aspirants who waited for 10 days for CAT 2015 admit card as earlier the information conveyed by CAT Centre 2015 was that it would be issued on October 15, 2015.

Practice Test: Delayed by 15 days CAT 2015 Practice test (Mock Test for CAT 2014) was supposed to be live in the middle of October 2015. But it was delayed by almost a fortnight and after a long wait by CAT 2015 aspirants, it was enabled. The most important and strong element in the changed format of the CAT 2015 exam that could guide the preparation journey in the right direction was the practice test for the D-Day.

The anxiety was growing day by day after October 15, 2015 since CAT conducting IIM Ahmedabad had promised Tutorial to understand the format of the examination will be available on the CAT website from 15th October 2015. Candidates are advised to work on the tutorials, available on the website, well in advance.

But later CAT Centre 2015 updated its response A CAT practice exam will be available on the website www.iimcat.ac.in for candidates to get familiarized with the functionality and navigation of the actual exam. This link will be made available by end of October 2015.

CAT 2015 aspirants continued waiting for this demo test since the promised date of Oct 15, 2015 but it was made live on October 29, 2015.

Thousands of prospective CAT 2015 takers had approached MBAUniverse.com regarding the delay in making live the practice Test before the Mock test was enabled.

CAT 2015 Result date: Going the same way CAT Centre 2015 promised to declare the results at an early date as compared to earlier CAT exams. Results of past CAT exams were usually declared 2-3 months after the CAT exam was over. This year for CAT 2015, the CAT 2015 convening IIM Ahmedabad had announced that the results would be declared by the 2nd week of January 2016 meaning one and half months from the date of the CAT 2015 exam. The move was welcomed by the CAT 2015 takers as well as the mentors as it would help the aspirants to decide their future course of action to explore admission opportunity and whether to appear in other management entrance exams for admission 2016.

However, no announcement till now on CAT 2015 result declaration date has added to increase the anxiety level of the candidates as they are not sure whether the result would be announced on time or would be delayed like other activities in conducting CAT 2015.

Another key point is that the aspirants have to decide whether they should appear in other forthcoming entrance tests like XAT/CMAT/MAT and MAH-CET and whether to apply to other B-schools apart from IIMs. No announcement on CAT 2015 result declaration date is simply creating more confusion among them.
