AIMS Annual Convention hosts Industry and Academic Leaders; Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi receives Ravi Matthai National Fellowship Award
The 35th AIMS Annual Management Convention, held on February 23-25 at Master School of Management Meerut, brought together management academicians and industry leaders to discuss contemporary issues in management education. Key conference speakers included Shri Bijay Sahoo, Group President, Strategic HR, Reliance Industries; Dr. Subhransu S Acharya, CMD, NSIC; Prof. M R Rao, Professor Emeritus & Former Dean, ISB and Prof. Janat Shah, Former Director - IIM Udaipur. A key highlight of the convention was presentation of AIMS Ravi J Matthai National Fellowship Award to renowned educationist Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi by AIMS President Shri Sudhir Sharma.
Ravi J Matthai Award Presented to Dr H Chaturvedi
Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, a renowned educationist and institution builder, received the prestigious AIMS Ravi J Matthai National Fellowship Award. This award, named after first Director of IIM Ahmedabad Ravi J Matthai, recognizes outstanding contributions to management education and research in India. Presenting the award, AIMS President Shri Sudhir Sharma said, “Dr. Chaturvedi has made significant contributions to management education and research, with a remarkable career spanning over 45 years.”
Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi is a distinguished management educator of the country who is currently Director General of IILM, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. From the year 1999 to 2024, he was the Director of BIMTECH, Greater Noida, where he brought together a team of seasoned educators and received the AACSB accreditation. He has been deeply involved with national bodies like EPSI, AIMS, AIMA, NHRDN, and the MBAUniverse.com Indian Management Conclave (IMC).
Dr. Subhransu S Acharya, CMD, NSIC addresses AIMS Convention
Dr. Subhransu S Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), delivered a thought-provoking speech at the AIMS Convention. He emphasized the importance of "dharma" (duty) and the need for individuals to make choices that define their destiny. He also highlighted the significance of inclusive financial systems and the correlation between financial inclusion and human development. He quoted various ancient texts, including the Shrimad Bhagavat Geeta, to emphasize the importance of excellence, compassion, and empathy in leadership. “Excellence is not a skill, it is an attitude," said Dr. Acharya.
