IIM Calcutta had officially announced November 5, 2024 at 5.00 PM as the date and time for the release of CAT Admit Card on iimcat.ac.in. However, the admit card was not released till 11 AM on Nov 6. This led to a lot of heartburn for MBA aspirants who kept trying to download admit card till late night of Nov 5. Checkout these posts from a popular social media forum. Student and threads names are not being published to protect identity.
“Guys! Is the CAT admit card out? Why don’t the IIMs keep their promise….,” wrote a candidate in final hours of Nov 5.
“I am logging to the CAT website, and am able to see the test centre and the time slot. But when I try to download the pdf, the pdf says Generated File Doesn't Exist. Am I the only one facing this?” wrote another user.
Requesting help, a CAT aspirants posted this message, “Hey guys, is there anyone else who havent received thier admit card, I am kinda freakinng out on my application status, and the CAT helpline is not really helpful…”

While most aspirants were struggling to download admit card till morning of Nov 6, it seems, a few smart alecks had found a few hacks!

It seems the trick worked…

When the Admit Card was finally released around 11.00 AM on November 6, it triggered a wave of excitement, anxiety, and rants among MBA aspirants across the country. Here’s a look at how candidates are reacting to the release.
Perturbed that his CAT center was too far, a candidate wrote this hilarious post on social media.
Another user wrote:
“My CAT 2024 Exam center 65 kms away. 3rd slot, 4:30 to 6:30. 6-7 trains daily none that reach by 3-4. Will have to reach at 12:30 and wait for 3 hours. Last train back from center at 7:15. Might miss if there are any technical issues at center. I mean I dont know. If this isn't a waste of money, I dont know what is. 2.5k for what exactly? flipkart logistics is better than this. Literally so many colleges and schools in 20 km range. But noooooo, IIMs want me you to travel to some godforsaken place, and be half dead when writing exam.”
Many other CAT takers were unhappy too. Another aspirant wrote:
“Bhai mera 65 kms to nahi par 35 km door hai and it's in the 1st slot, I don't know how to drive/ride and there is no one in my family who can drop me as well, there will be no public transport that early, so will I bail out?”

With less than three weeks left until the CAT exam, the release of admit cards marks an important step for every aspirant. By the end of the day, students seemed focused on regrouping themselves and getting ready for the exam day.
