CAT 2024 Result Release Highlights 
Let’s start with CAT 2024 result highlights and important data released by CAT Centre. 

• Out of the 3.29 lakhs registered eligible candidates, 1.19 lakh were female, 2.10 lakh were male and 14 were transgender candidates. 
• Of the 3.29 lakhs registered eligible candidates, the category wise breakup is as follows: General – 67.53%, EWS - 4.80%, NC-OBC – 16.91%, SC – 8.51%, ST – 2.25%, PwD (across categories) – 0.44%. 
• Of the 2.93 lakhs appeared candidates, 1.07 lakh were female, 1.86 lakh were male and 9 were transgender candidates. Of the 2.93 lakhs appeared candidates, General – 67.20%, EWS - 5.09%, NC-OBC – 17.5% SC – 8.08%, ST – 2.12%, PwD (across categories) – 0.41%.

CAT 2024 Toppers 

• CAT 2024 100 Percentiles: There are 14 candidates who scored 100 Percentile in CAT 2024. 
• CAT 2024 100 Percentiles: 13 were male candidates while there was only 1 female candidate. 
• CAT 2024 100 Percentiles: Only one candidate was non-engineer. 13 were engineers.
• CAT 2024 99.99 percentiles: There are 29 candidates who scored 99.99 Percentile in CAT 2024.

Earlier, CAT Final Answer Key was released on CAT official website on December 16. CAT 204 objection management exercise was also completed before the release of CAT final answer key. There was no change any of the answers. 

CAT Results Released After 25 Days 
As in previous editions, CAT results were released 25 days after the exam date. CAT 2024 exam was held on November 24 and results were declared on December 19, 2024. Last year, CAT 2023 was held on November 26, 2023 and result was released on December 21, 2023. Check table 1 for below.

How to utilize CAT Results – Key Steps 
The release of the CAT results is a highly anticipated moment for MBA aspirants. Step 1: Download CAT Score Card and Verify Details 
Here are the steps to help you download CAT Score Card.

• Login on CAT Website: Login with your CAT Id and Password. 
• View and Download Score Card: Once result is released, you will see your score card. Click on Download.  
• Take print of the CAT Result 2024: It contains your all the details, scaled and percentile score 

Understand the format of CAT Scorecard. It contains:

• Scaled Scores: These are adjusted for the difficulty level of three different slots.
• Percentiles: This is based on comparison of your performance with all other candidates who took CAT exam in three slots.
• Sectional Scores: Individual scores for Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning are also displayed. Check CAT Score card image below. 

So, your CAT Result 2024 will contain following details. You should verify them carefully to avoid any issue later.

Step 2: Shortlist MBA Colleges by Percentile Cutoffs 
As you know, different B-schools have different cutoff criteria for CAT scores, including sectional cutoffs. Find colleges that meet your expected score and percentile.

Step 3: Start Your GD-PI-WAT Preparation 
Soon after CAT results are out, B-schools will start releasing list of shortlisted candidates for Group Discussions (GD), Personal Interviews (PI), and Written Ability Tests (WAT). So begin preparing early by:

• Reading newspapers daily to stay updated on current affairs.
• Practicing mock interviews and group discussions with peers or mentors.
• Crafting a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP) or essays if required.

Step 4: Prepare your IIM Shortlisting and IIM CAP

Step 5: Focus on XAT, CMAT and Other Exams
Just in case your CAT results don’t meet expectations, you should register for CMAT 2025 Exam. Last date for CMAT 2025 exam registration in December 25, 2024.
