Dr Nilanjan Chattopadhyay, Former SPJIMR & IMT Faculty and Bennett University Dean, Appointed Vice Chancellor of Jagran University Bhopal

Dr Nilanjan Chattopadhyay, former faculty member of SPJIMR Mumbai & IMT Ghaziabad and Dean of Bennett University, has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Jagran Lakecity University (JLU), Bhopal. He has nearly three decades of experience in management education in India and abroad. Sharing his vision with MBAUniverse.com, Dr Chattopadhyay said that he wants to position JLU Bhopal as a premier global university in Central India.

Jagran Lakecity University is a private university based out of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The university offers 50+ degree programs to more than 2,500 students. It offers postgraduate, and diploma courses in law, economics, engineering, management, and other specialized disciplines. The university has MOUs with many national and international institutions.

Dr Chattopadhyay has nearly three decades of experience in management education in India and abroad. As the Dean of School of Management at Bennett University Greater Noida from January 2020 till October 2024, Dr Chattopadhyay grew faculty member from 21 to 58. In his tenure, students increased from 275 to 1680. Prior to Bennett, he was also the Dean of School of Management at Presidency University Bengaluru and Dean of Faculty of Management & Commerce at Manipal University Jaipur.

Earlier in his career, Dr Chattopadhyay also served as Associate Professor and Head New Initiatives at IMT Ghaziabad from May 2011 till January 2014. He served as the Head of Curriculum Committee and Chairperson Admissions at IMT Ghaziabad. Prior to IMT, Dr Chattopadhyay worked as Associate Professor at SPJIMR Mumbai and also at IIFT New Delhi and Ernst and Young. He also served as Visiting Professor at Sasin School of Management, Thailand.

Sharing his vision and expectations for JLU Bhopal, Dr Chattopadhyay said: “Jagran Lake City University is known as the Global University of the Central India. Taking this forward, I want to see this University as the first choice of students who want their learning experience to be based on the innovation of modern multidisciplinary education combined with the exposure to Global education.” He further added, “With a sprawling infrastructure…JLU is all set to be the best University in the entire Central India.”
