FMS Delhi has substantially delayed its MBA admission 2024 process by more than 3 months. The month of January 2024 has begun, but there is no clue about the beginning of FMS Delhi application for admission 2024. Despite the fact that FMS Delhi accepts only CAT exam score and CAT 2023 result was released on December 21, 2023, one of the top B-schools FMS is shying away from releasing its admission notification for MBA 2024-26 batch.
FMS: High RoI B-school-Yet to Begin Application for Admission 2024
FMS Delhi is a high RoI B-School with low fees and high placement packages. It is preferred to many IIMs and other top B-schools and thousands of CAT toppers explore MBA admission opportunity in FMS before finalising their admission in IIMs, MDI, SPJIMR, XLRI and other management institutes. Earlier FMS used to release its admission notification in the months of September/October, but for admission 2024 there is no information from FMS Delhi about its admission process and the application process is yet to begin. Probably, FMS Delhi is the last B-school in India that has not yet started its application process till now.
FMS Aspirants Worried
The inordinate delay has caused a great amount of confusion among the FMS aspirants who are waiting anxiously for the FMS Delhi admission process to open. There are thousands of MBA aspirants who despite scoring a very high percentile of 99 and above in CAT prefer FMS Delhi to number of IIMs. They are in a dilemma how long they need to wait for FMS Admission to open or they should proceed to participate in final selection round of other top B-schools. For example, SPJIMR has released its profile based short list and the interested candidates need to book interview slot now; IIM Rohtak has opened its registration process; IIM Mumbai admission process is open; registration process for 10 CAP participating IIMs is opening in a few days for single point final selection round; MICA, IMT, IMI, XIMB are open with their admission process for few days more. So, with so many options open, the MBA aspirants with high CAT score are worried whether to wait for FMS application to open or should proceed with admission process of other B-schools
Admission process 2024: To Remain Open for a Month
In reply to MBAUniverse.com query regarding the opening of admission application process for MBA 2024-26 batch, FMS Delhi has not reverted. However, going by the past trends, FMS Delhi will keep open its application process for about a month from the opening date for MBA Admission 2024.

High Scores in CAT 2023: Basis for shortlisting
FMS Delhi shortlisting criteria for final selection round aims to encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines. For the purpose of shortlisting candidates for Interview Process different weightages are assigned to the scores of different sections of the CAT 2023. FMS Delhi will shortlist the candidates on the basis of sectional and overall CAT 2023 score, gender diversity and other criteria as under:
- 100% weight to CAT 2023 score
- Weightage to sectional CAT 2023 Scores is awarded. For example Score in Quantitative Ability (QA) section is awarded 30% weight; the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) section carries a weight of 30%; Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section carries highest weightage of 40%.
- Additional 5 marks are added to the Weighted score for Women candidates
- This composite score is used only for shortlisting the candidates for Interview Process.
No GD in PI Round of FMS Admission 2024
FMS Delhi has replaced GD round by Discussion on Statement of Purpose (SoP). Earlier it used to award a weightage of 10% to performance in Group Discussion (GD). While GD was conducted before PI, the Extempore with a duration of 2-3 minutes is conducted during the Personal Interview. For the MBA admission 2024, weightage to GD is dropped and PI round consists of SoP and Extempore apart from Personal Interview.

FMS Delhi MBA Admission 2024: Application to Open in January 2024
The red building of dreams, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi, is expected to open application for MBA Admission 2024 by January 10, 2024 after an already incurred delay of 3 months. However, after such a delay - Will FMS timely release the shortlist of candidates for the PI round? Will it be able to conduct the final selection round in time and release the final admission offer to the selected candidates and will timely commence the academic session remains to be seen. It may be noted that last year too, FMS Delhi continued releasing its list of selected candidates including waitlisted candidates for admission 2023 till August 14, 2023 and asked for their willingness for admission till August 26. This delay of last year might have impacted in late commencement of academic session. If FMS Delhi moves fast this year such a situation may not arise.
Faculty of Management Studies Delhi offers UGC approved 2 Years full time MBA Program; MBA Executive Program; Executive (Health Care Administration) Program; Doctoral Program.
