IIM Rohtak MBA Admission 2024: Unveils High CAT Cut Off & Weightage; Check Criteria, Fee, Placement, Admission Process

IIM Rohtak, one of the highly ranked and high RoI B-schools, has registered 17% rise in average package in Placement 2023 which has gone up at Rs.18.73 LPA. IIM Rohtak makes substantial changes in its PGP admission process and criteria every year. Like last year, IIM Rohtak will not participate in IIM Common Admission Process (CAP) 2024 and will conduct its own admission process with its unique shortlisting criteria without sectional CAT cut offs and final selection round by awarding 60% weight to CAT 2023 exam score.

IIM Rohtak has charged non refundable additional fee of Rs.2928 towards registration for its admission 2024 from the candidates who appeared for CAT 2023 on November 26, 2023. The aspirants who wish to take admission in PGP 2024-26 at IIM Rohtak had to apply for IIM Rohtak PGP admission 2024 separately by January 5, 2024.

Most important changes in IIM Rohtak PGP Admission criteria 2024 are:

• 1.1 Register & Apply Separately for Admission: You need to register and apply separately Online for IIM-R Admission 2024 by paying Rs.2928 towards registration fee

IIM Rohtak is led by its Director Dr. Dheeraj Sharma. He is also Professor at IIM Ahmedabad and has taught or presented research at several educational institutions in North America, Europe, and Asia. • Opted out of IIM CAP round and conducts its own admission process

9. IIM Rohtak Eligibility criteria 2024

• 9.1 IIM Rohtak Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
• 9.2 One of the most important points in IIM Rohtak Admission Eligibility criteria is that apart from a recognized graduate degree, the candidate should appear in CAT 2023 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting
• 9.3 If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Rohtak by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
• 9.4 A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Rohtak Admission. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
• 9.5 IIM Rohtak Eligibility further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will not be eligible for the IIM Rohtak admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2024 from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2024) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
• 9.6 It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IIM Rohtak and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2024.  The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2024. 

10. IIM Rohtak Admission Application Process 2024: How to Apply?
Submission of Application for IIM Rohtak Admission 2024 is a two step process. The first one is to apply for CAT 2023 based on which IIM Rohtak will consider you for next round of admission process and second is to apply separately for IIM Rohtak admission 2024. Let us understand each step:

Step-1: CAT 2023 registration process has started from August 2, 2023. Candidates have to apply for CAT 2023 by the last date of September 21, 2023. Check below the key points in IIM Rohtak admission application process through CAT 2023:

• It is mandatory to register and apply for CAT 2023 for IIM Rohtak Admission 2024
• On the page 4 of CAT 2024 application form, you need to select IIM Rohtak PGP and select the interview city

Step-2:  In December 2023, IIM Rohtak opened its application window for admission 2024. You needed to register and apply for IIM Rohtak Admission 2024 separately by paying requisite registration fees

10.2 How to Register for IIM Rohtak PGP Admission 2024 Separately?
IIM Rohtak has opted-out of the CAP (Common Admission Process) conducted by new IIMs jointly for final selection. Now IIM Rohtak will shortlist and will conduct its PI round separately for admission to MBA 2024-26 batch. Apart from applying and appearing in CAT 2023, you need to register for admission to MBA 2024 at IIM Rohtak  from December 2023 to January 5, 2024. You should register with your CAT 2023 user ID and password.

10.3 Separate Registration Fee for IIM Rohtak Admission 2024
The candidates who have selected IIM Rohtak as one of their preferences in the CAT 2023 form, were  invited for online registration for PGP Admission process 2024 in December 2023. Shortlisted candidates will receive an email with a web-link for online registration in PGP 2024-26 batch. These Candidates, if interested to attend the PI process of IIM Rohtak, need to create their Login ID (USER NAME & PASSWORD for online registration. The Candidates need to submit an application/ admission data form along with registration fee of Rs. 2928/-. This application fee of IIM Rohtak is in addition to the CAT 2023 application fee of Rs.2400/-.

11. IIM Rohtak Admission 2024: Important Dates
IIM Rohtak PGP admission 2024 timelines can be divided into two parts – the CAT 2023 timelines which are same for all the IIMs admission process, and the post CAT 2023 timelines which are specific for IIM Rohtak admission 2024.

11.1 CAT 2023 Timelines: Mandatory Entrance Exam 
All the candidates who have registered and applied for CAT 2023, who have opted for admission in IIM Rohtak in the CAT 2023 application form, and score the required cut off percentile, will be eligible to apply for IIM Rohtak admission 2024. Important dates related to CAT 2024 exam are:

12. IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria
IIM Rohtak Admission 2024 is a five-stage process

• Stage 1: Shortlist Release after CAT Result declaration

Stage I: IIM Rohtak Shortlisting Criteria for PI Round|
IIM Rohtak will shortlist the candidates on the basis of overall CAT 2023 percentile score

• The candidates who have selected IIM Rohtak as one of their preferences in the CAT 2023 form, are invited for online registration for PGP Admission process 2024 in December 2023
• Shortlisted candidates will receive an email with a web-link for online registration in PGP 2024-26 batch. Candidates need to create their Login ID (USER NAME & PASSWORD for online registration.
• Candidate need to submit an application/ admission data form along with registration fee of Rs. 2928/-
• The candidates, who have submitted the application forms and registration fees by the stipulated date and time, will be considered and invited (as per merit) for the Personal Interview (PI) round in Stage-II.
• The shortlisting for final selection round in IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria will award maximum weight to CAT 2023 score.
• A candidate must have scored minimum overall percentile of 96 in CAT 2023
• If the candidate does not score minimum prescribed percentile in CAT 2023, he/she will not be considered for shortlisting for final selection stage.
• IIM Rohtak’s Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be shortlisted for PI round on the basis of criteria prepared for each category
• The Candidates shortlisted for PI process will have to attend it on the stipulated date

No Sectional Cut offs for Shortlisting
Emphasizing on its revised admission criteria for PGP programme, IIM Rohtak has shared, “The basic objective of IIM Rohtak’s admission process is to identify meritorious candidates for admission under each category of admission, viz., General, NC-OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PWD/DAP. While merit is the prime consideration, the Institute recognizes a possibility of skewed student structure in favour of male gender and engineering and related subjects at graduation in the normal course. Hence, it strives to ensure a better balance in opportunities among different subject streams and genders.” Accordingly the shortlisting criteria for PI round do not prescribe sectional cut off for any category.

Stage-2: Final Admission Selection Round Criteria

• All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Personal Interview (PI) round for admission to IIM Rohtak
• The scores obtained by the candidate in PI round would be considered for preparing the final merit list
• IIM Rohtak selection criteria after final admission round award a weight of 60 per cent to CAT exam Score (Scaled to 100); 20% weight to Personal Interview(PI); 20% wright to Past Academic performance, Diversity and Work experience
•  Minimum cut off may be applied to PI components. Candidates who do not obtain certain minimum scores in the PI will not be considered for the merit list. The minimum scores will be decided by IIM Rohtak at its discretion.

Stage-3: Final Selection List
The Final Selection List based on CAT score, PI score & gender and academic diversity will be released by IIM Rohtak sometime in April 2024. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in PI will not be considered for the final selection.

The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which include performance in CAT, performance in PI, academics, diversity among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on weightages awarded to various components.

Stage-4: Admission Offer
Offer for Provisional Admission for the PGP programme 2024-26 batch will be made to the successful candidates after the selection list is released. Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in May 2023 and will be available on IIM Rohtak website. 

Stage-5: Offer Acceptance and Reporting for Joining
Candidates receiving admission offer from IIM Rohtak will need to send the Offer Acceptance Amount (OAA) by the stipulated date prescribed by IIM Rohtak and will need to finalise the reporting for joining the PGP programme 2024-26 Batch.

However, a candidate can subsequently withdraw the OA within the withdrawal date specified in the Offer Letter (OL). In this case, OAA will be refunded after deducting administrative expenses and processing charges. If the candidate registers for the programme, his/her OAA will be adjusted against Term I Fee.   

13. IIM Rohtak Cut Off 2024 
IIM Rohtak Cut off 2024 are increased. Only the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT 2023 overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2023 will be considered for shortlisting for all the subsequent stages. 13.1 Actual Cut Off
Actual CAT 2023 score Cut-Off may be higher than what is shared by IIM Rohtak. It is possible that actual cut off may go up or come down.

IIM Rohtak cut off for admission 2024 will depend upon the number of candidates opting for IIM Rohtak. The Admission criteria 2024 at IIM Rohtak is based on CAT score, performance in PI round, academics, and diversity. Only the candidates meeting the cut-off would be considered for shortlisting. The minimum requirement to be fulfilled by the candidates for being considered for shortlisting for PI round is CAT cut off with 96 overall percentile. These are eligibility criteria and do not imply entitlement.

The individual CAT 2023 percentile may be lowered/relaxed, if the actual number of shortlisted candidates are found to be less than the required number of candidates to be called for PI in one or more categories. The relaxation in the cut-off criteria is to ensure sufficient number of candidates for each of the categories for PI process.

14. IIM Rohtak Admission Process: Summary Points

• The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required overall percentile in CAT 2023 to be considered for Shortlisting process for admission at IIM Rohtak.
• Candidates have to register at IIM Rohtak by creating login and should submit submit an application/ admission data form along with registration fee of Rs. 2928/-
• Category wise short-lists of the candidates are prepared for Personal Interview (PI from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2023 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of IIM Rohtak.
• All the shortlisted candidates will be informed by emails to download their call letters to appear in PI round. All the required details like date, time and other required guidelines will be mentioned in the call letter.
• Candidates should attend PI round in final selection process.

There are many young students who wish to appear in CAT and apply for IIM Rohtak admission to pursue MBA but they are in the second year or third year of their bachelor’s degree course and are not eligible this year but can apply for IIM Rohtak admission 2025 through CAT 2024. For the last 2-3 years IIM Rohtak admission policy has remained on same lines and it is expected that the IIM Rohtak admission 2025 process will remain on similar lines as this year.
