The 14th Indian Management Conclave is all set to begin today on September 20, 2024 at XLRI Jamshedpur with its two days agenda of thought-provoking discussions on conference theme ‘Identifying Contemporary Roles & Competencies for Reshaping MBA Program’. IMC 2024 Theme: “Identifying Contemporary MBA Roles & Competencies”
The theme for IMC 2024 aims to identify contemporary in-demand roles offered to fresh MBA graduates by MBA recruiting sectors. A big trend being observed in the recent MBA placement seasons was that large number of companies seek to hire MBA graduates directly for specific roles with little training. To understand the changing requirements of the industry, experts from Banking, Digital Platforms, FMCG will discuss the Conclave theme. Business leaders who will be speaking at IMC 2024 include CXOs from ITC, UBER, Axis Bank. How should MBA Program change to meet Industry expectations and what the progressive B-schools can do to meet these expectations. Chief of India’s MBA Regulator - AICTE, Asia Chief of World’s leading Accreditation body, Director General of Triple-Accredited Global B-schools, Directors & Deans from IIMs, IITs, XLRI, SPJIMR, MDI will discuss these issues.

Business leaders shall shed light on how the business landscape has evolved in the recent years, and what are their talent expectations from Business Schools and MBA graduates.

2. Consulting & IT Sector Leaders to Address IMC 2024 
IMC 2024 will be addressed by the business leaders in Consulting sector (including Management, Financial and Business Process Consulting firms), along with the IT Services & Global Capability Centres (GCCs). These sectors are the most prominent MBA recruiters. During placements 2024 season, they hired about 50% of all MBA graduates from the Top 50 Indian B-schools. This session is designed to seek answers to following questions from the CXOs representing this sector What are their expectations from MBA graduates? Are they hiring MBAs for Specific Roles? IMC-IRC 2024 will delve into six interrelated tracks, each offering a unique perspective on advancing management education. Out of the 150 Research Papers, only 50 papers are selected for presentation at IMC 2024. To recognize the impactful research papers presented at the conference, IMC Best Research Paper Award shall be presented. 4. IMC Award for Excellence in Management Education 2024 
Recognized as India’s most credible and prestigious management education Award, the IMC Awards are designed to identify, document and recognize the best-practices undertaken by B-schools in strategic areas. IMC Awards 2024 will highlight initiatives taken by progressive B-schools to identify contemporary MBA Roles, and to develop the required Competencies. 

More than 45 leading B-school participated for IMC Awards 2024. Finalists, selected by the Jury, will be making presentations on their initiatives and the best initiatives will be awarded the IMC Award 2024 during the Valedictory Session. Awards will be judged by India’s leading management educators and subject experts on the Theme: Identifying Contemporary MBA Roles & Competencies: Initiatives by B-schools & Faculty. Leaders will discuss how they can design programs, courses and other interventions that can help in development of MBA graduates who are ready for contemporary MBA roles and the required competencies. They will also reflect on macros challenges like policy framework, and desired support from the industry towards meetings their requirements.
