IMC Research Conference to witness 50 Selected Paper Presentations on ‘Advancing Management Education’; Authors from IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, Tata Steel to present; Track Chairs include India’s Top Researchers

To catalyze impactful research in the realm of business and management education, XLRI Jamshedpur and Indian Management Conclave (IMC) are organizing the IMC International Research Conference (IMC-IRC) 2024, as an integral part of 14th IMC 2024 Conclave. After a rigorous review of about 150 submissions, less than 50 papers have been shortlisted for presentation at IMC-IRC 2024 on September 20-21 at XLRI Jamshedpur. Authors from IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, XLRI Jamshedpur, Tata Steel, IIM Rohtak, IIM Trichy, NMIMS University, IRMA Anand, Great Lakes, IIM Sambalpur, Symbiosis University and many other institutions will present their papers at IMC-IRC 2024.

IMC-IRC 2024: Showcase of Best Research on Indian Management Education
“Advancing Management Education” serves as the overarching theme of the conference, highlighting the crucial role of management institutions. IMC-IRC 2024 has emerged as the showcase of the some of the best research on Indian Management Education. To ensure high quality of research presentations at IMC-IRC 2024, following steps were undertaken:

  • Conference Review Committee, which comprised of senior academics including Prof Sanjay Patro, Dean-Academics, XLRI Jamshedpur and Prof Trilochan Tripathy, Editor, XLRI Journal ‘Management and Labour Studies’ was constituted.
  • After critical review of all submissions, less than 50 paper proposals were selected for presentation at the conference
  • In effect, almost 100 submissions have been rejected -- rejection rate of about 65%.
  • Further, submission of Full Manuscript before the conference was made mandatory to ensure rigorous preparation.
  • Finally, no virtual paper presentation is permitted. To facilitate rich interaction, all papers have to be presented in persons.

IMC-IRC 2024 Theme ‘Advancing Management Education’, Six Tracks
Advancing Management Education serves as the overarching theme of the conference, highlighting the crucial role of management institutions in shaping the business landscape of the future. Throughout history, Management Education has remained at the forefront of innovation, continuously adapting to the changing dynamics of business and society. As industries undergo transformation and global challenges emerge, the pedagogy of Management Education must evolve to equip forthcoming leaders and managers with the essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes required for success. In pursuit of this overarching theme, the conference will delve into six interrelated tracks, each offering a unique perspective on advancing management education. After careful analysis of recent trends in management education, following six tracks were selected this year:
