IRMA Anand has completed its Placement 2019 for the 2017-19 batch and has broken its own record in getting higher placement packages, higher number of placement offers and more number of recruiters. A pioneering academic institution in rural management education and research, Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), has yet again achieved 100% placement in 2019 just in three days’ time with higher average and maximum salary for its 2017-19 batch.

IRMA placements for the 38th batch of its two-year flagship program in rural management (PG Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) were held during February 4-9, 2019. Maintaining its 100 percent placements' record since its inception in 1979, the current batch of 167 students was placed in three days' time.

The average salary offered by business sector organizations stands at Rs.14.24 LPA and that for the development sector organizations (NGOs, cooperatives, and Government Development Agencies) stands at Rs.10.43 LPA. The median salary stands at Rs.11.47 LPA. The maximum salary offered stands at Rs.50.31 lakhs. Overall Average salary stood at Rs.12.84 lakhs. The minimum salary consciously chosen by a student in the development sector stands at Rs.6.20 lakhs.

IRMA Placement 2019 recorded average salary offered by the Business Sector organizations shooting up at Rs.14.24 lakhs per annum (as against Rs.12.17 lakhs last year, registering a jump of 17 percent) and that for the development sector organizations (NGOs, cooperatives, and Government Development Agencies) stands at Rs.10.43 lakhs per annum (as against Rs.9.47 lakhs last year, registering a jump of 10.72 percent).

The median salary stands at Rs.11.47 lakhs per annum (as against Rs.10 lakhs last year, showing an increase of 14.7 percent.) The maximum salary offered is Rs.50.31 lakhs and the minimum salary consciously chosen by a student in the development sector stands at Rs.6.20 lakhs.

The combined average salary for the current batch stands at Rs.12.84 lakhs as compared to Rs.11.39 lakhs last year. A substantial improvement in the median salary over last year's figure is quite encouraging.

This year's placements experienced a substantial increase in the number of overall job offers compared to the last year. As an indication of the increased engagement of business as well as development sector organizations with the rural space, IRMA received 407 job offers in Placement 2019 as against 315 last year. Total recruiters participating in IRMA Placement 2019 also increased to 119 from 114 last year.

Total number of students who participated in Placement 2019 were 167 as against 180 last year.

28 PPOs
Placement 2019 at IRMA saw rise in number of students getting PPOs. 28 students at IRMA received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) from various organizations as against 18 last year.

Top Recruiters
Like last year, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) emerged as the single largest recruiter with 20 selections. Cooperatives/Producers Collectives as a sector recruited a total of 32 candidates.

Among multinational and national agribusiness corporations, Tolaram, Kewalram (Afriventures), ITC Agribusiness Division, ADM Agro, Godrej Agrovet, National Bulk Handling Corporation, Seedworks, Adani Wilmar, were the most prominent.

Recruiters from the FMCG and retail sector included names like Pidilite, Future Group, Grofers, Big Basket, Metro Cash & Carry, Ninjacart, among others.

Other recruiters included banking, finance, and insurance companies such as ICICI Bank, IDFC Bank, Fullerton, Vivriti Capital, Northern Arc, Caspian Impact Investments, ICICI Prudential, Bharati AXA, Reliance General Insurance, along with several small finance banks. 

A total of 28 students took up offers made by NGOs, development agencies and CSR foundations. Organizations including UNICEF, Tata Trusts (FISE), Vedanta Foundation, Reliance Foundation, BAIF Development Research Foundation, BRLPS – JEEVIKA, Precision Agriculture for Development, Responsible Mica Initiative, REHWA Society, and Access Livelihoods Consulting (ALC) recruited through the campus placements. This year the placement activities were chaired by Prof. Pratik Modi.
